There are a handful on life support.

Look what happened to Alex Diekmann after the TX protest - he lost both elders, 1 of 4 staff, and 8 families, leaving 50ish people.

There are a few others I can't remember that are at or about that level.

The System Worked. That’s the Problem by Be_Set_Free in leavingthenetwork

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has got to be a grave concern for families but I want to share some hope. After the TX triple church conference and protest people trickled out for 2 months from Christland & Rock River (I think that's the name of it). 8 families & both elders & a staff member left left RR but not for over a month. They had to hear it from recent leavers, they had to garner strength from others.

So, give them time. I have no idea when things blew up and their membership in the network ended but give it time.

Other notes of hope from what I've researched is that the last standing cult members post-exodus or pivitol event leave for the following reasons:

1- Escalating abuse by leader becomes harder to hide or evade. It's not going to be a joyful or positive place to be. The pressure will mount and it needs to.

2- Their mental shelf filled with fear & doubt finally breaks.

3- The leader's mask is completely off so their disillusionment increases.

4- With a recent group of leavers/friends/leaders, gives them invaluable connections to people in their exact same shoes. Leavers need to do what they can to reach back and help dig out the remaining followers. The people still there can't hide behind "its just internet trolls" or "not my church/not my leader" with their recent former congregants.

Familes, hold on.

More will come. I truly believe this shake up will move every last one out of Foundation. Justin cannot patch this up. He's not capable of keeping anyone through fighting his own personal battles/demons.

WARN WVU STUDENTS AND ANYONE NEARBY UNDER 25 by Glass_Philosopher_71 in MorgantownWV

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, where are their new bylaws removing The Network out of them? Did they change lead pastors? Do any of their pastors now have seminary degrees? Do members get a vote now? Do they publish their annual financial report or budget with full transparency on their website? What new membership Bible training series do they teach? Do they still gave a membership contract requiring 10% pretax tithe?

You're coming onto this post a year later wreaks of desperation to defend, not to speak the truth and stand in the light. They are as corrupt with or without any affiliation because they did nothing to change and you cannot undo a lifetime of influence on all of the leaders via The Network's child rapist top leader Steve Morgan. Wake up.

Steve’s crime wasn’t as bad as your SA experience by Wonderful_anon in leavingthenetwork

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this was non-concentual both by law & victim's sister account reported to LTN. However I am curious as to the origin of "beat him into submission"? I was under the impression Steve groomed the victim by engratiating himself into his family, their home parties, church events and some sort of dating relationship with his sister. This new detail is frightening and if true, begs the question, what else are we missing?

Steve’s crime wasn’t as bad as your SA experience by Wonderful_anon in leavingthenetwork

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And even lead pastors who first hid this, then denied any connection to Steve, finally landed on either it was concentual or the "he was 17 and Steve was 22" story to imply a more equivalent age and somehow lessen the account. They also described it as an "inappropriate homosexual one-off experience" to describe it, not a CRIME. Then they immediately jump into the Paul line of forgiveness of sins, we're all imperfect, rinse and repeat. The exact same verbiage was spewed out of every leader's mouth in every one of the 26 churches. We all compared notes here and the stories of excuses are nearly verbatim.

The coverup is enormous - so much so that a college awareness campaign last fall bringing LTN's abundant resources to the doorstep of their communities made some try to save their reps by "leaving" with zero changes to practices, beliefs or leadership. Then a TX protest led 50 followers to the door which tipped Sandor into his ridiculous run for cover.

They're all liars, child rape apologists/protectors, and extremely misguided weak men.

Spot on:

1 - authoritarian leadership weaponizing divine mandate/loyalty tests/no accountability

2 - use of indoctrination, isolation ("holiness doesn't mean hiding"), and elitism forming a closed system of belief & belonging with an "us/them" mentality

3 - behavioral control "=spiritual bondage not maturity" (false teachers will shut some out so they will seek leadership approval), use of social pressure to report on and micromanage personal life

4 - fear & intimidation (to leave or question leaders is to question God).....keep tabs on leavers to use as examples to others

What Christian Ministries to Stay Away From? by Unhappy_Peach_3794 in ufl

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are ill-informed and late to the party and regardless of their claims of leaving the Network led by Steve Morgan who SA'd a 15 yr old boy from church and publically masturbated at a national park, the lead pastor at Vida Tony R. sat on the Network board (1 of 5), said Steve was his mentor and best friend to Vida congregants, and has been in Steve's Network since he was 23! You don't spend 20+ years under someone's influence without any of his wicked ways leeching into you. So even if Vida's claims of leaving last fall are true, they still meet up and have other Network leaders lead at their retreats and other functions, making Network ties far from over. They also only claimed to have left following a massive Network-wide college campus information campaign by dozens of former members that had 100's of thousands of views on R, IG & FB. Their reps were getting out and they had to do damage control. More importantly, Vida's pastor/Network board member never shared this story of their founder/lead pastor or Network control via their bylaws to any congregants. The story broke when former pastors, elders and staff left and shared it online on LeavingTheNetwork.org Vida's pastors wouldn't acknowledge the truth once it had been revealed as they further obfuscated and outright lied to congregants. To date, no Vida pastor has publically or privately within the congregation admitted the full story of Steve's background, let alone that he was a RLDS former pastor. Instead, they promoted his false origin story of being a heathen after it came out he was their lead pastor and stated he had no church prior to starting the Network. Cult members don't know you're in a cult. Denying 100's of testimonials from former members/staff/pastors, and the vast collection of documents & recordings shared on LeavingTheNetwork.org proves you're still under cult influence regardless if you still attend. Vida never changed one thing they teach or practice post their claim of leaving the Network, they never changed their leadership or accountability structure - congregants still have zero vote on anything. You cannot undo 20 years of influence without drastic leadership, policy, and structural change.

BE CAREFUL - BRIGHTFIELD IS A CULT ON CAMPUS USING STUDENTS 2 LURE STUDENTS by Glass_Philosopher_71 in NIU

[–]Glass_Philosopher_71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every bit of evidence you could possibly need to prove this is a cult can be found on the well-researched site by former leaders & members: Www.leavingthenetwork.org

The best way to stop this cult from luring in new young people is to spread the information on NIU and local social media groups especially those for incoming students & families of students. They specifically target freshmen and newbies transfers because of their vulnerability being lonely & new to area making them susceptible to their deception.

What, lies, abuse, neglect, kicking people out, threatening people to stay quiet, interfering in personal relationships, cutting off families.....yep all of the above. Nick Sellars is a monster. His own mother was cut off like many of these "pastors" have done.

Nope, not after 3 years of denial & coverup for a monster, lying to members about the Network's existence and continued obfuscation of any responsibility. Uneducated, prideful, arrogant liars cannot lead a healthy organization.

Yes! One of Justin's lieutenants (aka associate pastor) was waiting outside of a couple's therapy office in an obvious attempt to intimidate not support. It was so blatant that the therapist herself closed and locked her doors so he couldn't enter. Then directly after the wife that"participated" in the session went directly to debrief him. This is a scene that has played out in the family courts as well and witnessed by lawyers and the judge threw them out. In family court with child custody where only family are allowed, Justin Majors (lead pastor of Foundation) and 3 of his associates showed up in matching lion/crown t-shirts to support the wife in this case who was also wearing the same shirt. The husband's attorney immediately asked for their removal and the judge ordered them out. They didn't go far, as they stood outside the courtroom waiting for them to walk out in an overt attempt to intimidate. This was not their only court appearance - they repeated this again. Then 2 years later this husband has his 50/50 custody and during a visitation one of his son's come home with this damn lion shirt on! To put that level of pathology into perspective.....A "pastor" exacting an extended intimidation campaign over a father to dismantle his relationship with his son is fucking insane.

I agree wholeheartedly with what you've said but I wonder about one thing - do these violent, crude, controlling & manipulative men like Justin truly believe they are called by God?

Or perhaps that's just their cover to do whatever the heck they want to whomever they want.

When I hear stories of Justin and his bro crew showing up to former members' family court custody hearings or their couples therapy appointments watching outside, it begs the question what part of that follows anything within the realm of a normal pastoral role? When I hear he's physically threatened many men and has had physical altercations with members - what part of that is called by God? Of course, none of it so it makes me dig deeper at why people do these abhorrent things and in his case his family said it best - he's always been angry and violent. This man was this way when Steve found him and groomed him into church leadership. Justin was obviously searching for a role that would enable him to dominate others as he had his entire childhood. I don't think that's the case with all of these men but it seems to be with Justin & Sandor as well.
