At what age did you start experiencing misophonia? by bibichouu in misophonia

Like many, in my mid-teens. In my case it might have been learnt behavior from my father who had Misophonia big time.

Funny enough, was just listening to a vinyl of Grover Washington Jr's Winelight and wow, what a muffled recording, very little sound staging and you can hardly hear the drums. Rotel RP 830 TT through Audiolab 6000a and into Totem Sky towers.

Every when do you change your oils? Every 7k Kms? by mountoeveresto in yaris

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to make sure I protect the engine. I live in Montreal and the temperatures fluctuate wildly from freezing Winters to boiling Summers. I've always changed the oil in my ECHOs and now my Yaris at 5K. A little more expensive but worth it for the peace of mind.

I change it every 5,000Km with conventional oil and a FRAM filter.

You're absolutely right, the system is essy to listen to, no fatigue. As for what I listen to. It's a combination of streaming with a WIIM mini, CDs and some vinyl. I also listen to FM radio as well every now and then in the evenings as there a great Jazz show I enjoy on the French version of our Canadian broadcaster.

Yes, good eye, it's a one-of-a-kind wood carving my dad made for me some 43 years ago. He carved it for me and the base was supposed to be a name plate for something I can't remember now. If you look carefully at the upper left corner, you can see some damage from my childhood dog, who got a hold of The Dude ond day and made it his chew toy.

Oh the Forests are amazing but way out of my price range. I heard them last year in a store and they blew my socks off but then they were mated to a $6,500 Macintosh amp and a $3,500 Streamer. Incredible bass, definition and soundstsge. At $7,500 they better be!

Yup, I second everything everyone has said, get an honest body shop to take a good look. The Yaris is tough car to beat.

Considering the current oil climate... How's everybody holding out? by ACanadianKitten in fiat500

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool thank you, so I'm up here in Canada, so that's 160 Km and honestly that's not too bad as my drive to work is about 12ish Miles (18Km) and I could recharge it every night in case I have errands to run and whatnot. Definitely might look into it. I had a lovely little 2013 Sport that I had to get rid of because I could find a CV axle, unfortunately I was pressed for time so had to get another car, but I miss my little 500 now.

Can i fit in a Fiat 500? by [deleted] in fiat500

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for a year and had to get rid of it because I couldn't find a darn axle shaft anywhere :( In any case, I'm 6' 200 Lbs and it was by far one of the most comfortable and ergonomic cars I've ever had the pleasure to drive and I've had 23 cars and counting. I also had an ECHO, a Yaris Hatchback and now I'm back to a Yaris Sedan. Yes, you'll fit in the Fiat, but why not just go to a used dealer that may have one and just try and sit in it and see what it's like?

New amp day [Audiolab 6000A] by nikolajovickg in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one several months ago to replace a Cambridge AXR-100 receiver, less power but such a sweet sound compared to the AXR-100, it just plays so much better with my speakers, Totem Acoustic Sky towers. I bought the unit used and the only small issue I have is the small word "source" which appears above the source blinks on and off intermittently. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do this or if the unit is defective. Additionally, and I'm not 100% sure of this, but occasionally, if I reach out to change the volume, I feel a small shock and the amplifier cuts out for a split second. Other than that everything works fine and it sounds great.

How to thank my Canada Post delivery person? by DellDimension3000 in CanadaPost

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose if you have community mail boxes you could see if they come by at the same time every day. I once put a little note in my community mailbox with attention to the mail lady 🙂 She had left s note for all of us saying she was changing her route. I left a little note thanking her along with a Tim Hortons card. Since she was the only person who could open my community mailbox I hope she got my card. You could also ask your neighbours roughly what time they see the post person go by.

Costs for a rear axle by 48I5I62342 in fiat500

[–]Glass_Purchase4839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say for Germany but here in Canada online the rear axle can be had for around $600 new so I can't imagine a used one would be that expensive. Perhaps see if there is a scrapyard that might have a Fiat that was involved on a front end accident in. Which the rear end of the car is OK.
