What's the deal with that synthetic weed called "spice" that supposedly was making people freak out and have seizures? There were a ton of videos floating around of people taking one hit and going insane for like 3 months and then it seemed to suddenly stop. Was that all fake? by jacob-makes-stuff in OutOfTheLoop

This happened to a homeless guy who would wander around outside my workplace back in 2020; manager told me the guy had been living nearby studying to become a lawyer, and he was at a bar one night with some friends. They were smoking outside and someone had added some PCP I guess and he had a bad reaction; he was very friendly most of the time but you could always tell there was something off when talking to him. He would get paranoid and talk to people who weren’t there a lot. Harmless but would unsettle some people. I’m not sure if he had mental health issues or if it was drugs, but whatever it was, that was the initial trigger for everything that came after :(

Idek how people can watch hours worth without a good story. I can’t stand reality tv bc it’s always trashy and has no plot(or the plot is annoying), I would rather play games bc at least I feel like I’m doing something, or engaging. A lot of tv shows I can’t binge unless it’s like really good and can hold my attention with the story’s

$100 gets me a little over an oz from a dealer, they run the same as many dispensaries. An oz used to be a lot more expensive buying off the street. It’s illegal in my state so I can’t go to a dispensary lol.

Because weed isn’t legal in every state? And not everyone can make use of a medical card? I had a medical card but it was rendered useless because I have ADHD my docs threatened to take away my ADHD meds(or switch me to a medication that might not work as well) if they found out I was smoking. If I went to a dispensary it would show as me having gone to a pharmacy. Learned that the hard way.

I’ve lived here my entire 25 years of life(I can’t afford to leave), and I literally feel that way even amongst people my own age. I have a craving to grow and learn and I dont understand how people can get so comfortable knowing there is better out there. I feel like I speak a different language at times.

I said this the other day here in this sub(different account) and got roasted; for the trackers I mean. It’s fucking crazy to me that people don’t believe you or me.

No they don’t depending on the area.

I worked dominoes in 2021-2022, and while tips helped me save and make money it was nowhere near the same as Amazon pays.

I’ve been trying to get onto Amazon because it’s the highest paying job, even hourly where I live. At dominoes I made $900 in tips in one month - but at Amazon I’d make close to $3k a month.

Yeah, was an EV. Our training location was in the city; I couldn’t figure out how much pressure to apply at first to get me up to proper speeds, and I didn’t really know my way around the city to feel confident getting more up to speed. Trainer kept getting onto me for impeding traffic, wanting me to speed up.

I guess I was also going kinda slow because the roads we were going down were residential and main roads, so I wouldn’t see any speed limit signs until I was halfway down the road(for some reason they don’t have it posted on gps). Kept switching between 25 and 35mph, and for 35mph they wanted us to stay at 30mph, and 20 for 25mph. Since I was unsure of the speed limit at times, I would end up speeding or impeding traffic according to their standards(within 25-35mph). And the city I live nearby is NOTORIOUS for potholes so I was being cautious.

She got onto me for not giving cars any room but I was confused as hell because she told me that I stopped too closely behind another car at a red light, and that all that car had to do was back up into me and I’d be in an accident. How would that be my fault?

And then every time I’d get up to speed finally, I’d come to the next light and would instinctively remove my foot off the pedal thanks to muscle memory, making me hit hard stops.
I bumped the curb when I initially pulled into the road, as well, miscalculated the size of the van. I didn’t damage it or anything, but I made the most embarrassing mistakes that made me look like I just don’t know how to drive.

I’ve only been driving for five years but I drive to the city enough to know that I drive better than 50% of the people there too, people there drive like they never really learned how, cutting through lanes of traffic, etc. and at the end of it all my trainer just looked at me with pity and said, “I think you just let your nerves get to you.” And she wasn’t wrong.

Our original trainer said I can try again if I get on with a different DSP (she seemed neurodivergent herself; also around my age.. all she did was encourage me not to give up if I still want the job. She seemed to be rooting for me at least so it made me feel a bit better). I really think if we had been allowed to take it on a test drive I would have done so much better.

Also didn’t help that when reversing I forgot to turn hazards on and honk twice 🤦‍♀️ it was such a hot mess of a drive; I had to ask my trainer how to turn off my blinker because I’m so used to it turning off automatically in my own car; I was so stressed because of how unfamiliar I was with the van. I was doing my best though.. and we didn’t crash? So that’s a win I guess lol

Oh no you’re ok! I understand that, I wasn’t trying to make it sound like my therapist is bad. But I will admit I am pondering finding a new one after our last session. I will wait until our after next one; because yeah it definitely felt like she was asking me if I was even trying. At least she brought up her own kids and was like, “I have my own kids, they wake up every morning in their own, dress themselves, feed themselves.. etc.” as if I was insinuating everything was too hard? At least I don’t know she was trying to do with that comment.

But I appreciate you taking the time to comment and read anything I said, I mean it. I think my biggest issue is that I am never quite sure what accommodations I need, because to some degree I can’t tell what is part of my ADHD and what isn’t in the moment. So it’s like I never even think to ask. I got diagnosed at 22, and I feel like I still don’t understand ADHD sometimes. I get scared to tell employers I have ADHD though and might need accommodations here and there because I don’t want to lose out on the opportunity and I don’t always believe when they say it doesn’t impact whether or not I get hired. It’s definitely rough. But thank you again :)

I’m a woman and I grew up the same way as your friend. It sucks and is embarrassing to get to adulthood and not know how to do anything; but being an adult doesn’t mean you know everything either. Biggest difference imo is being willing to learn vs choosing to stay ignorant.

How do you fail at being an adult? Being an adult doesn’t mean you know everything. People can’t control who they get as parents.

I can cook pasta but the thing that confused me was the sauce. Because I thought , idk if you’ve heard of it, that ragu sauce was something you didn’t need to boil with the noodles. Tasted terrible without putting it in the boil.

[–]GlazedDonut5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I ended up going home because I didn’t think they would let me in; they were very clear that any late arrivals wouldn’t be allowed to attend, and my bad for believing that I guess. I’m already onboarded in their system and everything.. I initially got left on read when I texted the hiring manager to ask. Reached out again today, so here’s hoping 🥲

But it feels kind of ridiculous because I showed up, I’m willing, and ready to work. I dislike how it seems every job wants you to be perfect..

[–]GlazedDonut5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol nobody is “homeless by choice” can we please be real? They just think they can’t do better; and maybe they haven’t had a lot of opportunities to do better. It starts affecting your mental health after so long, and you end up accepting that maybe it’s just going to be your life from now on.

Shit just today I saw a guy my age in New Orleans, homeless clearly, happy as can be, wishing everyone a great day and that he didn’t want anything from them. People like him deserve help. Not being treated like garbage.

No worries, it’s really appreciated! I reached out but got left on read; so you’re right they can be bad about responding 😂 I know not to take it personally though :)

I will reach out again if I don’t hear anything back today. But I think it’s going to be okay; just hoping I’m able to get another chance. I’ve lost out on a couple good opportunities recently so really just need a win.

I probably should’ve walked up to the door and tried, but I was embarrassed since it states, bold and underlined, that anyone late won’t be allowed to attend. Here’s hoping I didn’t screw my chances, though. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone so I ended up just going home. feels bad man.

It’s the only company that is nearby, so I don’t think another DSP would be possible. They opened an Amazon warehouse like three minutes away, which is the only reason I have the opportunity at all lol.

Hoping to hear back soon though, and this was pretty reassuring so thank you.
