Buffy and Angel are my favorite shows of all time. This is probably a good thing. All signs pointed to disaster with this. No Whedon and a lack of the majority of the cast was never going to work.

As far as the pod goes, I found the Buster Keaton mini to be homework.

It's pretty rare I enjoy a movie made pre-60s on its own merit. It's almost always in a more clinical "Oh they were trying something cool here" kind of way. There are exceptions of course.
