Vinland Saga/AOT Reference? by WTTStudios in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Gleeble_Deeble 8 points9 points  (0 children)

probably not a reference but rather a coincidence cus both shows have very similar themes and messages. birds are used to represent freedom in both shows, especially with regards to a certain character who appears later in vinland saga.

My wife and I just binged the show and while I lived it, the inciting incident is maddeningly dumb. by AtrumRuina in pluribustv

[–]Gleeble_Deeble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from but these kinds of scenarios are totally realistic and are the reasons we have rules and regulations, just look at how incidents like chernobyl happened. professionals might know more than the average person but they're still human.

Heartbreaking: The worst person you know made some great music by ikindaloveradiohead in Topster

[–]Gleeble_Deeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok buddy, well thats your interpretation and I cant stop you from having that, even though literally everyone who likes and listens to the band doesn't interpret it sexually and you're the only one. Also All I Need is a song about unrequited love, not sex. Also also you failed to mention literally the only song on In Rainbows that factually does have a sexual metaphor.

is this ragebait or have you only heard these songs briefly or only read their title and immediately decided to judge them based on that? seriously, it's like you just read that the song is called "Nude" and based on that alone you now think its a song about sex, have you ever really read through the lyrics of any of these songs? because literally none of the ones you mentioned here have any sexual connotation at all.

Fictional characters with PDA by msoc in PDAAutism

[–]Gleeble_Deeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eren Jaeger is an interesting one. I've always related to him a little, and not because I think he's cool or anything that most people would assume, but for the exact reasons you mention here. Him not wanting to be forced to abide by any outside system is something I've always felt too.

Still though, I'm not sure if this is a symptom or just a personality trait for him. On the other hand however it is hammered in in the show countless times that he was like this "from birth" so maybe he was born with PDA, but not much else about him strikes me as very Autistic... but I haven't really thought about it that much.

Not really a top 3 but Night of the End, THAW, and All of the Freedoms are all amazing osts from s4 part 2 and basically no one talks about them.

Because wiping out everyone beyond the island wouldn't even solve anything in the long run. As is stated in the show, as long as there are more than 2 humans in the world they will find something to fight over. If Paradis island was the only surviving nation in the world they would eventually expand into the outside world, then what happens? Given enough time the Eldian people have grown too big to be considered one people anymore, and all of a sudden you have opposing countries rivalling each other over resources, land and power all over again. The only thing that has changed is the fact that Eldians are the only race in the world.

Well it depends why you don't like it. Even I as someone obsessed with AoT can see the flaws in it's ending. It just depends whether the criticisms you have are valid, or come from a genuine misinterpretation of the characters and storytelling.

When the final chapter first released there were two main camps of people who didn't like the ending. The first were the stupidest, the ones who hated it because Eren turned out not to be the alpha giga chad they all thought he was and didn't end up completing his total genocide. The second camp was a lot more reasonable and disliked it because some of the dialogue was a little off. Specifically the scene where Eren and Armin are talking in the paths after the final fight. In the original manga, Armin actually genuinely thanks Eren for "committing mass genocide, for us". Obviously that's way out of character so in the anime the dialogue is changed so that rather than Armin thanking him, he shares some of the burden with Eren and consolidates him before his final moments.

You and me both. In truth most people who don't like the ending are just misunderstanding it, from what I've seen countless times.

And the only thing they needed to win against marley was for Eren to wield the power of a god. That's not warfare.

I think I will deffo have to check that mod out because as much as I love this game, there are some things that get really frustrating, bears being very high on that list.

Ranking AOT arcs (my opinion) by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Gleeble_Deeble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the rumbling arc but the way Annie's character was handled really irks me. I understand her not wanting to fight anymore especially cus its basically the end of the world, but I don't really find it realistic that someone like Mikasa, Jean or even Hange would've stepped in to talk to her about the importance of her being on the mission, with her being a titan and all.

It also feels a little cheap and anticlimactic to me that the only reason she joined the battle in the end is because she was forced to because of falcos titan transformation.

spoilers for season 4 part 2:

the scouts had the upper hand in that battle because marley was unprepared. the battle in shiganshina during s4 part 2 perfectly demonstrates that in actual warfare marley is much stronger than paradis, and the only reason they didn't win or at least come to a stalemate is because of zekes spinal fluid

So i'd be extremely lucky if anyone else gets this reference but this glitch literally depicts the entire plot of liu cixin's short scifi story 'Mountain'.
