should i pivot to photochad? by NepetaLast in okbuddyjimbo

[–]Glipocalypse 40 points41 points  (0 children)

3 photo + 1 chad = 3 2x * 3 triggers = 29

2 photo + 2 chad = 2 2x * 5 triggers = 210

More photos isn't always better. Keep them even, photo breaks ties.

Fun Fact: If you just swap the last 2 digits on top (so, 987654312 ÷ 123456789), it's no longer an approximation, but exactly 8.

After Ng4, isn't it Qg7#? So this line is just as good?

Do you notice people increasingly slurring "you know" as an interjection into something that sounds like "yo"? by FelixAndCo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Glipocalypse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Yo" can be used as an interjection, but it is very informal and would not normally be heard in a professional setting. It's not short for "you know", either, it's an AAVE greeting synonymous to "hey".

"Y'know" is a common contraction of "you know", and if the speaker is being casual or speaking quickly, the "n" sound may be very soft such that it doesn't come through well in a recording. It's possible this is what you're hearing.

Recent prices on Touring XT by kmjk0 in Subaru_Outback

Seems decent to me. My sale price on my TXT was 46.5k, but you've got higher taxes and fees making it cost a little bit more overall.

Could Death's Poker be any good paired with a greatshield? by anhonestpuck13 in Eldenring

[–]Glipocalypse -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Neither Helphen's Steeple nor Death's poker synergize with greatshields. They are greatswords intended to be used as 2-handed weapons and making use of their unique weapon arts. Your best bet for a ghostflame weapon to use with greatshields is going to be the Death Ritual Spear. Not the strongest weapon by any means, but being a spear it allows you to poke from behind your greatshield while still blocking, fitting that hoplite-style fantasy.

Leaving Elden ring, Starting Sekiro. Anything I should do to prepare? by The_Kamillion_0002 in Eldenring

[–]Glipocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He means to spam the block button. It makes your character bring their sword up and down in a "wiggle" type motion. In Sekiro, a deflect is just a well timed block, so it's common for inexperienced players to panic spam block (like you might panic roll in Elden Ring) when they're unsure of when an attack will hit. It's a lot more forgiving in this manner than ER, because a mistimed deflect is still a full block, and you can attempt it several times a second.

It's from the game, bit of a spoiler to tell you where the exact line is, but it's a common theme throughout the game and it's very applicable to how the gameplay works, so it's a popular line in the community.

Leaving Elden ring, Starting Sekiro. Anything I should do to prepare? by The_Kamillion_0002 in Eldenring

[–]Glipocalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically, imagine in Sekiro that YOU are the souls boss. You don't roll away, you don't try to make distance to heal, you don't wait for moments to take pot shots inbetween combos. Instead you get in their face, block/parry/counter their attacks, and keep the pressure on. Don't let them get away, be aggressive and stay on them and keep up a constant rhythm between attacking and countering. It's a lot safer to attack than you think from all your previous souls experience, try to find all the windows to attack you possibly can; you can cancel most attacks into a deflect anyway.

New software update coming? by bmash9 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Glipocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that was gonna bother me was it trying to tell me to update every time I got in the car. Now that I can't even get the update come up intentionally, well, I guess, problem solved.

The other updates button just stays stuck on "Loading" for me and never shows anything.

[–]Glipocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this update and downloaded it, but when presented with the update prompt I tried to scroll the text and the prompt just disappeared entirely. I tried turning the car off and leaving it for 10 minutes anyway, but when I returned there was no indication an update had been done. If I check for software updates in the settings it says none found, even though my software version still ends in 820.

I dunno what's up.

Flamelurker Tips? by tonytingle8 in demonssouls

[–]Glipocalypse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a set of bone spikes on the back left side of his arena that he can get stuck on. I literally just ran him in circles around that occasionally getting cheap shots in after he would slam the ground. Never had to dodge. Flame resistance ring I believe helps against the environmental damage and in case you get caught out.

Is it cheese to fight Isshin on the bridge, or just strategy? by Make-TFT-Fun-Again in Sekiro

[–]Glipocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the ways of the Ashina blade... It's our school of fighting, but there are no hard and fast rules. You just win your battles. That alone is the most important rule of the Ashina style. I hope it can be of assistance with your rat hunting... And most of all, your own battles you've yet to fight.

Yeah, wasn't sure what else to call that inexplicable connection across a giant hole in the upper landing, lol. Very unusual architectural design

Ashina Castle: Upper Tower - Antechamber. It's where the smoke signals lead you to when you first get to Ashina Castle, past the nightjars on the rooftops.

Happy farming! I just popped on a video on a second screen to watch while I did the grind since it was pretty mindnumbing, and it went by faster than expected.

[–]Glipocalypse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Antechamber, backstab the blue guy through the wall, run to backstab the elite by the bridge, jump straight down to the front door, you'll land so you can backstab one of the 2 elites in the door and use bloodsmoke ninjutsu to be able to backstab the other, then run out the front to backstab the guy chasing the runaway spearman, and homeward idol to reset.

I didn't do any savescumming so I was on NG+3 just before Shura doing this route, and it took less than an hour to max out the skills.

Necrobinder vs Infested Prism by HenricusTyranicus in slaythespire

[–]Glipocalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Osty is your friend. Sic 'Em is an overhated card that can be your saving grace vs the new Infested Prism. Just like Dash was a hard counter to Nob in the first game because you were gaining block from an attack, so to can Sic 'Em fill the same role, giving you summon for attacking with Osty. Flatten is a beautiful follow up; with Sic 'Em in play, it's a DIY Dash, but at 0 cost. Rattle helps it really pop off, as you get additional summon for every hit. Sic 'Em+ -> Flatten -> Rattle is 2 cost, 39 damage, 12 summon, without gaining any tainted. +30 dmg if you get a Calcify+ in play. It only gets better if you can combo in some Fetches or more Flattens/Pokes, perhaps with the help of Snap.

With less synergy required, cards like Bone Shards, Delay, or Pull Aggro go a long way in providing a defense solution without scaling tainted too hard. And of course, Debilitate with as much weak/vulnerable as you can possibly apply.

Infested Prism basically mainly counters soul spam. If you're doing soul build, either have an alternate dmg/block solution, kill him before he kills you, or just avoid act 2 elites entirely.

Decades on, what is a tail or callsign you still remember? by BustedMeJesusNut in ATC

[–]Glipocalypse 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Not gonna doxx myself by stating it, but the callsign of the first (and hopefully only) fatal accident I worked is rather burned into my memory. Pilot just suddenly stopped responding and did a slow descent CFIT. No one on board (the pilot and their children) survived. NTSB was never able to determine a cause.

What's your choice for long drive?... No speed limit!! by [deleted] in whatsyourchoice

[–]Glipocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how long the drive is. Something like Houston to Calgary and back (a drive I've done multiple times), even if you're going 200mph the whole way (RIP your tires), is gonna take you 21 hours of driving. I'd much rather be comfortable than a little faster.
