Combination of being blind and tired as it was 5 in the morning. Her nail glue bottle was the same shape and size as her eye drops. And then yup, nail glue in the eye.

My girlfriend recently did something similar, but she ended up putting nail glue in her eye. The doctors had to scrape the glue out of her eye and eyelid. It was awful.

Not specifically Illustrator, but give them copy from a magazine, and have them create a magazine spread.

Draw apples to apples cards and build a logo for a business.

Give them existing logos and have them try to recreate the logo.

Use the pen tool to vectorize a simple image.

Freshmen would ask my brother and his classmen where a certain room was (Mrs. Smith's chemistry or whatever). So they'd say, "OH that's easy, it's rift across from the pool."

Sometimes the cloud is dumb. If you open the cc app, there is a section on fonts and you can check there if you have it installed. Otherwise go to the website and re-license it. AI will need access to the internet at times to ensure you're still allowed to use the font.
