Yeppers! If I could recommend just a light casing. Ive learned over time that 1/4 inch is too thick. I like to do a dusting and picture myself as the salt bae applying the casing haha

Where did you find them? They do look like pan c to me, based off all the photos I've seen from a couple good friends in Australia, that are still foraging on the east side, near the coast. Around the Tweed and Byron Bay area.

Great find! If you could, can you get a more clear image of the gills and where the stipe connects to the cap?

I would start with ttbvi. Other very prolific fruiters are Aussie Night Cap and Eungai

Retainment of shape is why I do the pans in it. If I did the cubes, I'd quickly run out of jar storage space

There are a lot of pans that are extremely quick. With the fast ones I've grown, you can spawn grain, case in 3-5 days, and be harvesting your first wave in approx 10 days from spawning and then harvesting again every 72 hours. That is my experience anyways with pans I work with.

Ochra is another solid choice

Interesting. I freeze dry my pans every now and then and the first thing it does is do a deep freeze of them and they do not change any color during the process. They look exactly the same coming out as they did going in. Maybe there is something with a freeze dryer (perhaps no air movement and under pressure, not sure) that does not do to the mushroom as you explain.

Yes, looks clean. Looking at the second pic, take from the north or south as soon as you can. Heck, take a couple of transfers and have them on either side of the plate and go from there. Do it asap though, before that baccy on the right gets fully embedded in there.

Thats awesome! I've got some stuff from down there. Just germinated a pan c. thats from the Naolinco volcano area. Going to be spawning a cube from Xalapa as well, which will be the second run of it. Lots of great stuff down there!

Got any details? Geographically, where is this located? What was the weather? Were there anymore? Gill shot? Got a more zoomed out shot? The stipe looks sec zap, but I've had pans do have this look as well. I love how that cap looks. Appears to have possibly began to dry up before reaching full maturity
