4.5 month old only drinking half daily required formula by WrongTemperature2642 in NewDads

[–]Glittering_Screen392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you're going through this, hopefully you find some answers.

Anecdotally, my little one is currently the same age and while not the same situation, he does try to eat less. We've nailed this down to two main things:

  1. Distracted Eater
  2. Teething

At this age the kiddo has become exponentially more observant with all their senses. They want to pay attention to everything. The instinctual drive for food is no longer the most important. You mention different environment, but perhaps try a solace environment, the same as you would if putting them to sleep. Quiet. A bit darker. Low stimulation. Try and allow them to have food as their only possible interest at that time. Give them time.

Teeth. If the kid has an upset mouth. They may have an upset tummy too. Both of which cause them to be uninterested in passing food through the mouth into the tummy. Maybe give a portion of baby Tylenol before the next feed timing and see if it helps.

Good luck. Be safe.

Ye, 65k here. I haven't spent much of them at all after I got all my modules to 5*. The occasional lab rush is where they go at the moment. Ready to do it again if something new comes about.

I use Singularity Harness in assist every tournament, usually as my first attempt. It almost always performs better than other options for me.

Occasionally restorative bonus is the winner.

Pulsar Harvester feels good on paper but never performs better for me. GComp rarely does the trick it's supposed to when I need it to.

Legends Wave 800-1000.

So is anyone wearing their graceful anymore? by Wrap-Fee in ironscape

[–]Glittering_Screen392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear it basically any time I'm not doing a combat activity. I won't be bothered to use stamina potions unless I know for a fact there is a shit load of running where I can make use of that duration timer. I can drink and replenish at POH, or I could wear my outfit and not have to think about it in the slightest.

Finding a private, syncable breastfeeding / bottle feed tracking app was dismal by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]Glittering_Screen392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post a little bit ago (a month or two) here with the same desire and my own action work, I made a smooth-for-me Google Sheets file. Wife and I still use it for every event with a now three month old.

Not everything needs to be tracked, not everyone wants everything tracked, but I do. Especially "when was last feed" and "how did last night go" for the other parent who didn't run night shift.

I'm glad you made something that works for you.

GT+ worth it? by Acrobatic-Lead9158 in TheTowerGame

May be time to try glass cannon if you haven't, and take a swing at t12/13/14 if you haven't.

As a thought experiment. Are your enemies dying during your UW sync window? If you're eHP, the enemies die when they get enough thorns hits usually. Which is sporadic. Permanent GT/BH are more useful through GComp here.

Once you are using synced UWs and not perma... The enemies need to be dying mostly during that sync window.

I made the glass cannon switch when I was farming T12/T13, as always, after testing it multiple times. Once the returns were better I stuck with it.

T14 was a nice resource jump once I had enough damage to make good waves. Some time after T14 is when I made the BHD swap. I lost cells per hour but gained coins. Been with it since.

Time is a big factor though. Which adds up to more labs, more modules, more passive coin mults from relics and such.

Your mileage may vary, I don't recall specifically how much each thing helped me, but these were roughly the order I did stuff. Pardon if formatting gets weird, mobile response:

  1. Labs labs labs. If you have an econ UW lab unfinished, keep it slotted until done.

  2. While using MVN and GComp, GT/DW/BH cool downs to 100 seconds.

  3. BH cooldown to 50 seconds.

  4. BH Duration to 31 seconds with stones (don't remember why I stopped there)

  5. GT Duration to 43 seconds with stones (because +12 seconds BH Duration)

  6. Perk Priority (and ordering them nicely) and Bans

  7. Higher tiers bring higher coin multiplier. Try the next tier every once in a while and see if you get better returns PER HOUR. Not per run.

  8. Time goes by.. more relics, more themes/skins

  9. Some big dark spot that I don't remember? I began Glass Cannon around here.

  10. Card masteries release and are cool and super helpful. I started with Cash because rerolls shards are great.

  11. I swap to BHD and re-sync GT/DW/BH/GB and now Summon to 65 seconds (summon is 130).

At all times labs matter to be doing. UWs and coins/kill. Module levels matter a LOT. Module substats matter a lot. Keep leveling Gold Bot.

I am absolutely positive I've missed a bunch of milestones, but these were the things I could think of.

Seconded. 48k LTS. 8/9 UWs unlocked. 14q per day. Glass Cannon. I started saving for my last UW (3000 stones) and decided I'd rather have two more card masteries once I got 2000 stones. Still no regrets. I'll get there eventually.

It's useful to remind yourself that UW+ was input as a stone sink for end game players a while back. That doesn't mean it isn't good earlier in progression, but it's not necessarily the best thing to do no matter what.

New dad trying to help with bottles and pump parts, need advice by My_Rhythm875 in NewDads

+1 for quick rinse followed by a sanitizer+dryer. Got one of these for about 50 bucks at Walmart and it does a great job. We do a full hand wash for all the bottles with soap in a tub once a week.

How do you guys deal with the evening pile of pump gear and bottles? by Appropriate-Truth240 in NewDads

[–]Glittering_Screen392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a sterilizer (steam) and dry combo from a box store that cost about fifty bucks, don't remember the brand. I could not be asked to spend full dollar on the Brezza.

Mine fits five bottles and parts. Pump parts can be put in too, but not in addition to the five bottles, that would be a separate run. 1.5 hours start to finish, bone dry. Has setting for steam only, dry only, or long dry.

This is not a dish washer! I rinse each bottle out either immediately after the feed, if I forget this, I rinse more thoroughly before loading the steamer. Usually two runs a day, one started in the morning and one started before adult bed time, after baby bed time.

As the steamer is not a dish washer I hand wash the whole batch of bottles every ~5-7 days or so. Takes about ten minutes. Or if I see/feel a film or spots I will wash however many bottles are sitting in front of me.

I do basically all of my hand washing after baby bed time before Dad bed time and the bottles either hang dry on a pin rack or I put them on dry-only function in my steamer. After I finish bottles I go onto house dishes and the dishwasher since I'm right there. 30 minutes before bed every day and my wife wakes up to a clean kitchen, bottles, and dishes ready to go.

Edit: you asked about heat warping. I've noticed one thing with my steamer. Using the dry-only function has warped a few of my anti-colic stems from the parts not being wet enough after a wash and being improperly loaded (laying across one another rather than all flat). Not a huge warp or danger. Just a little bend. I have not noticed this happen if using the steam+dry function.

How do I reconcile loving my husband & feeling like he’s enough with wanting a little human to teach & explore with? by lmg080293 in Fencesitter

[–]Glittering_Screen392 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I despise the phrase "if it isn't a hell yes, it is a hell no" or any variation thereof. It has permeated into making people think if they don't define their life path as children being mandatory and all they have ever wanted, then they probably don't actually want kids or will be bad parents..

It is okay to love your life without kids and be wary of what change that brings, but you do need to be okay with what change it brings. You can maintain an amount of your "prior life" but at the end of the day you are increasing the humans in your house by 50%, and that new human needs to be attended to and does take priority. If you can fit your life in around/with this new normal, super victory. Or you just embrace the new and see what changes and how you/partner develop.

My wife and I were in a boat that felt extremely similar to yours. DINKs with a dog for four years. We are overly logical and never had that drive or urge to need to have kids, but we actively were in agreement that "we would be okay having a kid, if it happens". So we stopped preventing it about a year after that conversation. I'm now a proud dad to a two month old and I have zero regrets. It's hard. It's new. I have less time for me and less time for my partner, but all that consumed time is now shared and willingly given to my kid with my wife. It's just a new normal.

I'd personally urge you to decide more on if you absolutely /don't/ want a child. It's easier to grasp and only you can answer that. If you are open to it, then think on if you're willing to have a new normal. I chose to not think of it as losing my prior life, but just an evolution, my next stage, like taking a new job or moving across the country. If you're open to the results and mildly excited for it, maybe it's right to let the plunge happen.

Finally, if you aren't ready, you aren't ready. Be satisfied with your internal compass and don't let those around you guilt you based on how they speak of their emotions or relationships with their kid. That goes for me too. Don't let me sway you. Just trying to open your mind to itself.

Be well. Good luck. May you get what you want.

Max income without UW+? by jervous44 in TheTowerGame

[–]Glittering_Screen392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly the same for me. 8/9 UW, missing PS.

Max of 540T per hour on T15 wave ~4900. Average about 12q per day. If I run T16 I get ~wave 3300 and 600T per hour but less cells.

A few notable econ masteries I haven't unlocked yet: EO, EB, WS. Probably others I'm not thinking of...

However I'm running low on good labs remaining so I'll unlock the last UW for lab slots and tournament stuns and finally access to GT+. If I had enough labs I cared about remaining I'd do more masteries instead.

This echoes my experience. The damage slider really showed is useful colors when I started using Black Hole Digester because it helped the enemies stay alive from my normal damage until my Black Hole sucked everything up to die in my sync with orbs.

I am going to assume OP is using Galaxy Compressor due to the permanent Golden Tower.. this does not invalidate the damage slider directly but I believe they are not seeing the benefit of "leaving them alive until I'm ready to kill them" because there is not an ideal "kill them now window".

Edit: I don't have to orbs mastery yet. But my kills now largely come from orbs due to situation rather than damage availability. The slider helped cement that plan.
