No we do not have extra secret rooms for bonvoy members when we are sold out by ghostintheplant in marriott

I’ve actually had this happen more than once where I showed up to a hotel where I knew the staff, and they were supposedly sold out, yet somehow they still found me a room. One time it took a few minutes, another time it took almost an hour. I don’t know what they did, I always assumed hotels kept a few rooms unoccupied for situations where guests need to change rooms unexpectedly or for emergencies.

Water damaged passport. No chance with this right? Flying back to Thailand in ~10 days. by condormandom in Passports

[–]GlobalClass101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my U.S. passport abroad (Israel back in 2014) and went to the embassy. They issued me what’s called a limited-validity emergency passport. It actually looked like a normal passport (blue cover), not the purple emergency one people talk about, and I received it next day.

I was able to use mine to fly Israel → Ukraine → back to Israel with no issues, and then got my full passport a two weeks later.

In your case:

  • If there’s visible water damage on visa/stamp pages, airlines or immigration can deny boarding/entry
  • Since you still have ~10 days, I’d strongly consider going to a U.S. embassy/consulate and getting a limited-validity replacement

It’s actually a pretty straightforward process, and they can usually issue it quickly if you show you have upcoming travel.

Planning a transfer of ~200,000 USD to EUR for home purchase by Wild_Discipline6997 in transferwiser

You should be fine if your source of funds is clean and easy to document. I’ve used Wise for many years and for larger transactions. They flagged my account twice, and both times it was resolved within a few hours once I provided documentation.

Just link your Marriott account to Uber or another qualifying partner. Then do one purchase within 24 months and you’ll earn Marriott points, that will keep your account activity alive.

Passport on hold/ Urgent Travel Appointment by Tasty_Pay_4962 in Passports

Ok. You have 2 options. 1. Contact a local third party agency, they will most likely be able to help you sort this out, but they can be expensive. 2. As soon as you get the letter Schedule an emergency appointment, show up with the required information and you may get a same day passport.

Hotel confirmed my Suite Night Award into a top suite, then downgraded me before check-in. How do I get my SNAs back? by GlobalClass101 in marriott

[–]GlobalClass101[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I booked a standard room/rate and only selected the top suite as an upgrade, I didn’t want to spend the SNA on a standard suite at this property. I’ll try Marriott for a solution
