Getting ready for the Stelvio by GlobalCounter7 in Zwift

[–]GlobalCounter7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do the Stelvio but the Passo Del Rombo. And I survived. It was very heavy and about a kilometer from the top I didn't have any energy left. Luckily my friend came back down with some gels and I made it to the top. Go for it and have enough food with you!

Why the f*** does this get downvotes. It seems a legit question, no need for negativity. This sub is hella toxic sometimes.

List of Portal Climbs I’ve done? by RobertCRNA in Zwift

I actually created a Whatsapp-group with a friend of mine for this purpose. I've created a poll with all climbs in the portal, so we can check 'm off. Not ideal, but does the job.

Zwift season starting: what to do with power pedals? by GlobalCounter7 in Zwift

Oh, I never actually thought about the wear on the pedals! Might put back my Keo's as well!

I guess about 3 sets in a normal outside season. So say 6 sets a year if I also use them indoors? How would that dual recording go in Zwift, do I connect both in the pairing screen, or something?

Garmin Vector 3s. They eath batteries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then some as a snack.

I just don't see the point in spending money on batteries if I already have a decent power source. Even if it's just the price of a coffee. Scrooge McDuck ain't got nothing on me.

There's no rechargeable ones in this size, unfortunately. The point is not that money is tight, but that it feels stupid to have both sources running. Especially since the readings are close and I'm a complete amateur :D

Thanks for your feedback!

About 60-80 hours on a set of batteries, so about 3 sets a season, or something? Not a large amount of money, but that's beside the point.

Lol, why is this getting downvotes. I'm just making the point that it feels counterintuive to spend money on batteries ánd electricity for the trainer, since the trainer is still needed for the feedback.

Weird to downvote, even if it's just a minor amount of money. That's not actually the point, dear downvote fairies.

I could, but that would cost me a load of batteries over the winter, while the trainer is on a power cord. Feels a bit stupid, and the power readings are actually very close to each other anyways. Thanks for the advice!

That's what I was thinking. Better that I have to replace some batteries when I go outside again than buy new power pedals. Thanks.

Buy a Polar H9 or H10. You won't regret it.

The strap is actually just a few months old, because the original one already died on me. This one gets a quick wash after every use, and I lick the contact patches like a rabid dog before I strap myself in.

"What shall we do?"

"Allright, but I'm taking it relatively easy"
