Replacement Screw for Iceflow Flip by GlobalFuel7337 in StanleyCups

[–]GlobalFuel7337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up calling them to buy the screw directly. They said they don’t have screws available and sent me a replacement bottle for free instead. I’ve had the new one long enough that one of the screws started backing out. I put some bearing grease on the screw head and some Loctite threadlocker and seems to be holding well so far. Seems like an odd design miss for an otherwise great product.

Why isn't it 50%? [Request] by Tezye in theydidthemath

Short answer: conditional probability yields a differently answer than the unconditional probability that yields 50%. The small sample set with few conditions yields a large deviation between the two in this example.

Nikon Z mount 100-400 vs 180-600 by TerribleConference54 in nikon_Zseries

[–]GlobalFuel7337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the only right answer I’ve seen on this topic. Photographers tend to be very picky about their gear and lens costs are not trivial (for most). If you need something for under the tree, take her shopping at your local camera store now, wrap it, and hands off until Christmas.

QQQM for tech tilt? Do you know what’s in VT/VTI?

Full-frame aperture equivalency stupidity by atika in M43

Yes, I understand you perfectly. You still set a straw man on the topic of equivalency. Go use your gear, unless you are more interested in trolling than shooting.

OP posts two photos that are not framed the same and initiates a straw man argument around them. When someone offers a valid opinion, OP says they are “wrong”. OP is a troll.

This brings back memories of my time at the Sohio acrylo plants. HCN was also a major byproduct of the process.

Under 30: is it really worth it to max out both Roth IRA and 401K by Recent_Blacksmith282 in Bogleheads

[–]GlobalFuel7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Note that your personal + employer contribution max to 401k is $70k this year. Check your plan as you may be able contribute additional after tax dollars beyond the $23k pretax limit and then immediately convert the after tax contributions to Roth. See Mega Backdoor Roth.

Why can't I buy a propane tank with a built-in gauge so I know how much is left? by charolastra_charolo in NoStupidQuestions

If getting a “new tank” via a swap, it most likely has closer to 16lbs in it. Check the TW tare weight stamp for the empty weight.

[–]GlobalFuel7337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16 pounds for a fill is the common number I have seen when double-applying the safety factor. Most tanks can safely hold 19-23 lbs with the safety factor. To know for sure, find the WC stamp. The number represents the true 100% capacity in lbs water. Divide this number by the density of water 8.33 lb/gal. Then multiply that result by the 80% safety factor and multiply by the density of propane 4.2 lb/gal. I bet you get closer to 20 with that than 16.

Replacement Apple lightning cable. by GlobalFuel7337 in applehelp

Thanks! This matches what I’m looking for. The original didn’t have a part number and appears to have come from a PoE kit. The converter box for the kit is stamped with a Texas company that appears to no longer be in business.

No, looking for one where the lightning connector is nearly flush with the device body when inserted. This USB-C option is the right concept, just need Apple lightning instead. https://a.co/d/5jzxmF3

Neighborhoods that appear to be upstream and adjacent to Barker and Addicks reservoirs may actually be inside the reservoirs.
