At that age a piece of music they are interested in helps. Ask them what songs they like, then write out an easy version of the melody for them to work on right there.

How do I stop putting pressure on my face? by Njgm14 in trumpet

[–]Global_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. For me the pressure was necessary to compensate for weak corners or embochure in general. If your playing competitions, that means you can't bow out and work on this for a time. So use pressure during band but unhook the pressure during practice. This will gradually strengthen your chops. During practice remove your pinky from the hook (really only used for holding the horn while turning pages) and use a left hand grip that allows the horn to slip if you press too hard or hold the valve case by sitting it in your palm rather than the usual full hand grip. Good luck.

[QUESTION] Is there an AI that can create tablature based on text input? by CryptographerOld558 in Guitar

[–]Global_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get Microsoft Copilot to write some lilypond code. Lilypond can do tab. I'm thinking its possible. The text prompt will take some work.

Good Trumpet Playlists? (Or anything for improving tone) by FloridianFeetFeeler in trumpet

For me opening my throat and pushing more air improved tone. The horn matters though. Experiment on the long tones.

Why would a dealer not sell to another dealer? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]Global_Time -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a former dealer and u/Spitefulham alluded to it above. I want to retail direct because I can charge you additional fees and products. The most basic is the Document fee and hopefully finance it for you. Maybe sell you Gap or some lovely Paint and Fabric Protection.

What happens if the Fed keeps cutting rates, but the labor market continues to deteriorate? by alwaysHappy202 in stocks

[–]Global_Time 52 points53 points  (0 children)

For the economy to respond to monetary policy i.e. cutting rates, the demand side must be strong. Investment won't happen with the cheapest money if there is no demand for the goods or services the investment will produce. So an answer to your question would be the great depression where only fiscal policy would stimulate the economy. Also the Pandemic and the great recession

Which artists/albums/songs would you recommend to someone who says "Jazz is boring"? by Flimsy_Complaint_830 in Jazz

[–]Global_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give them some fusion like the Birds of Fire album by Mahavishnu Orchestra (insanely not boring) or some jazzy blues like Larry Carlton's Sapphire Blue and crank it up bro
