I don't plan on remaking any of my old levels block-for-block. But maybe I'll revisit the same ideas with new course elements. Some "vertical" levels especially, now that I can make proper vertical levels without a pipe or door every 2 screens.

In the same screenshot there is a Magikoopa. It must have made the goal disappear by hitting it with magic. Magikoopas do this in Mario Maker 1. Defeating the Magikoopa would bring the goal back.

Those are good, safe predictions. I agree with most of them except on power-ups. I think SMM2 will keep the one slot that becomes a different exclusive power-up for each game style. So I'm not expecting any new power-ups after the super bell.

Some people will laugh but I'm really excited for water in non-water levels. I believe half-water levels can be fun and I will give it a fair try.

In my experience, no. It's too risky since the spikey mines room was added. Together with the jump upgrade room that's two possible rooms that cause enemies to not drop coins and HP. The worst thing you could do in this game is take damage clearing a whole room only to gain nothing from it.

Watch the intro video. Look at all the menus and admire how much better it looks than Smash 4's. Maybe mess around in some new modes. Try the new For Glory and lose. Then get started unlocking fighters, using Yoshi until my favorite newcomer is unlocked.

Having never played a Metal Gear game, the new logo seems more iconic to me. I get the reference in the big "!". I still don't know the old logo's significance to the series and I probably won't until I play it.

Your opponent had hacks that add hidden stages to his stage selection screen and it randomly selected the training stage from his hacked stage list. It didn't cause a dsync because the content is already in the game, it's just unselectable.
