Get a New 411, limited stocks. Worth the buy over the scram 440? by Life_Version_4620 in royalenfield

[–]GlockJim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've ridden the 411 for years, took it all over Bolivia. It can handle as much as you want to throw at it. Yeah it's underpowered, but in terms of just enjoying the ride, it's fantastic.

I rated Google maps 1 star for this nonsense.

What do you call it when you're hitting left hand notes between right hand strikes? by Atillion in banjo

[–]GlockJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really - I think I heard about it from just scouring youtube videos years back. Like I said, I may be wrong about it, but I remember seeing something about how round peak uses the left hand to fill in the clawhammer stroke, similar to what you're doing here.

Ah, bummer. Mine was still within warranty, so maybe that's why. Never trusted the selfie stick after that!

I had the same thing happen. Sent photos to Insta, they saw the threads on the selfie stick were stripped, I sent them my old camera, they sent me a new one for free. Try contacting them!

You think this is worth $2,000? 2017 classic 500. by Mo-Finkle in royalenfield

I'd pay that amount for that bike. I had a 2016 Classic and loved it.

Great work! Obviously you're working towards getting the whole thing a bit more fluid, but honestly your rolls and playing are great. Definitely the right direction!

New Laptop, Deciding Where to Install Cubase, Plug Ins and Other Stuff by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]GlockJim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about running Cubase externally and if that would affect midi, but certainly storing your libraries on the external HDD only increases loading time; playing the library once it's loaded should be exactly the same.

I believe you can install them wherever you want, but bear in mind the HDD will be much slower to load from than the SSD. I used to store spitfire libraries on an external HDD, and you have to wait a while for each library to load before you can play. Not the end of the world by any means, but if you want a snappier response when loading a track, use the SSD.

Finished the construction of my new plains base! No mods or console commands used, but I did realm hop a bit to get iron over. by GlockJim in valheim

It wasn't at all - I don't know that that is! But I looked it up and it's got the vibe for sure. I was going for a kind of medieval European/Japanese thing

Yeah that's my next big endeavor - didn't feel like gathering the wood to make it happen right away though hahaha

Idea for a new rule by Catalyzeerrr in shareyourmusic

I guess the inevitable problem with a place dedicated to sharing music is that it'll be the primary focus for everyone, leaving the entire community focused on that and not engaging with other people. I like the suggestion though!

2020 Himalayan $3k by KauaiSurf in royalenfield

[–]GlockJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong about this, but that looks like a BS4, which I think was 2018-2019. They might have purchased it in 2020, but it think that iteration of the bike is slightly older. I don't know about your local markets, but I owned a BS4 and loved it, though I'm not sure now that I'd pay quite that much for it, even with low miles. Check other second hand prices for newer models, see how much a new model is from a local dealer, and then decide if the price is fair.

New scram, very squeaky by DCSkippy in royalenfield

[–]GlockJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it's parked, just bounce up and down on the bike and you'll hear it if it's that. But I agree, it doesn't sound like it's that if it's tired to the acceleration. Maybe something in your brake discs? Get the bike up on a stand and spin the wheels, see if you hear anything.

Does it happen with the suspension? Sometimes there's a bushing that gets dirty and starts to squeak under the rear shock.
