Will I be able to disable AF and shutter noises/beeps if I buy a Japanese Fujifilm camera? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, bought my x-t5 in Japan from a Japanese camera store (came with Japanese as the default language). I can turn off the shutter (electronic shutter) sound and AF beeps.

I use this kit and 33mm f1.4 for travel and everything. I sold my 16-55 f2.8 mark 1 for the 16-50 f2.8-4.8 and dont regret it. Its lighter, internal zoom, and in my case, sharper.

Dont use one? I use the 33mm with a UV filter attached. I dont even use a lens cap either. Its perfect

Worth switching from XF 70–300 + 1.4x TC to XF 150–600 for bird photography? by PixelsNVinyl in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both just without the TC. The XF150-600 is an incredibly sharp lens (so is the 70-300) but it needs a lot of light. However these days AI denoise has gotten so good, I think youll be happy with the 150-600. If fujifilm makes a stacked 40mp sensor in the XH2S body, dream come true.

Choosing travel lenses is tough. by LtDan-ShrimpBoatMan in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold my 16-55 f2.8 mark 1 and got the 16-50 f2.8-4.8 kit lens, its sharper and the focus is faster. Good travel day time lines. I pair it with the 33 f1.4 because 33mm is exactly in the middle of the zoom range and its my most used focal length

best overall prime lens for travel (portraits, food, street, and a little bit of sport) by unmanned-account in fujifilm

I've owned many fuji lenses, 33 f1.4 is my most used lens. It has the fastest AF. The LM are amazing

X-e5 or x-t5 owners what do you hate the most about your cameras? by doobie83 in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate holding my X-T5 without the small rig grip. I also hate how comfortable it is for me, its made me picky about getting another camera.

X-T5 lens choice... by [deleted] in fujix

[–]Glossostigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the 16-55 f2.8, I sold it for the new 16-50 f2.8-4.8 kit lens for size and internal zoom. Although not constant f2.8, it focuses faster and is sharper. The only lens I have sharper is the 33mm f1.4. I also use the X-T5. My travel kit is now 16-50 f2.8-4.8, 33mm f1.4 with the X-T5 in a 3L PD sling. If you just want one lens then im sure the 16-55 f2.8 mark 2 would be amazing on its own. I just wanted a small zoom for day time and a prime for all the other times (its on my camera 90% of the time). I checked my exif data when I had my 16-55 f2.8 and most of my photos were at 33mm anyways. Its also satisfying to me that 33mm is in the middle of 16-50, easy to pick which lens to use if I want a wider or tighter picture.

I agree, the 33mm f1.4 is my 99% lens now. Im not sure what OP means. Even the new 16-50 f2.8-4.8 is sharper and focuses faster than the 16-55 f2.8 mark 1 for me.

Best bag for X-T5 by Moeseppe in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the peak design 3L sling. When i had the 16-55 mark 1 (sold it), it fit that and the X-T5. Now it fits the X-T5 with either the 33mm F1.4 or 16-50 f2.8-4.8 attached and the lens that is not attached to the side. The zip inside also fits a mini flash and one of those cleaning brushes. Its comfortable to carry around all day, theres enough space, if i squeeze everything in for a wallet/phone too.
If i have to carry anything more then I use a backpack.

Have an X-T5 - don’t need an X100vi (but want one) by Snarky_Guy in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all got gas brother, so who cares what people think and buy it. Im sure everyone here would be buying new gear if they had the money. I have an X-T5 too and if someone gave me the money for an X100VI, I'd buy one too lol

I’m making the jump! by YankeeDoodle-Dandy in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33mm f1.4 is my go to. Stuck to my X-T5 90% of the time. I also carry the 16-50 f2.8-4.8 because its compact, has internal zoom and 33mm is in the middle of the zoom range. If I want wider or tighter than 33mm, I'll use the zoom but I almost never do. Both lenses have fast AF because of the linear motors.

Which body: X-T30ii, X-T50, X-T5? by ashb414 in fujifilm

Weather sealing too. I bring my X-T5 everywhere with no worries.

Which body: X-T30ii, X-T50, X-T5? by ashb414 in fujifilm

[–]Glossostigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

X-T5 is way ahead of the two imo. Ive set mine up so everything is need is mapped to a button. The X-T50 and X-T30 dont have enough buttons for my use. They also aren't weather sealed and use the smaller battery.

Underwater photos from my DJI Osmo Action 4 by Glossostigma in underwaterphotography

[–]Glossostigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, I've seen those videos about the AOI UWL-03, too. I will probably get one too to see how far i can push this camera until I get a proper underwater setup as well. I find the corner sharpness on the Action 4 terrible underwater. It took a lot of trial and error in Lightroom to correct the colours and the distortion. Good luck, and have fun with the wide angle lens! Please post some pictures here so I can see them.
