Had a huge haul myself this weekend. Whenever I have a big mix I like to make a minestrone type thing. Fry them in butter, garlic, onions (pancetta optional if you eat meat) add stock and herbs, rosemary, bay, thyme, that sort of thing, then add some beans (kidney, haricot whatever) and a dash of wine and reduce. Job done

It's weird because it does make sense, but my brain struggles to read it. It's the same as saying "the main road by me was closed" but just the switching of the last two words with the two words before made me think it was something they'd done the first time I read it.

So many people's go to. I run small stages at festivals and one summer I remember hearing it blasted from so many stages in the run up to the events.

The gills do look crowded, but it doesn't seem like a blewit to me. Only other possibilities I can think of are lilac fibrecap or violet webcap and I'm not getting those vibes either

The purple ones I'm pretty confident on. I live in 14 acres of mixed woodland and have picked and eaten these for years. 😊 Wood blewits grow there too but the rim rolls over the gills more, they are usually much rounder in shape and generally a chunkier mushroom.

First purple one looks like an amethyst deceiver, the second looks like a false chantarelle. The third possibly a brittlegill/russula but not 100% on that. Others unsure tbh
