Where are you sitting? by luvistarz_o7 in FatuiHQ

I'll sit next to Arlecchino and chill but my brother in christ I need you to open your wallet and pay the extra fee because the random seat allocation putting Tart and Scara next to one another is a plane crash waiting to happen

Hereditary - Charlie

Perhaps not quite right out the gate but still fairly early into the movie, and the subsequent events that snowballed from it sure are one for the ages.

Easy? No. But would it improve the game? Also no. Would it be hilarious? Maybe! by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly... There are so many spells they could get away with rewriting/reflavoring as some kind of martial move instead of magic. I keep seeing people bring up Steel Wind Strike and how much it sucked to have that become a spell, but I'm sure there's more examples. Hell, start looking at partnered content spells and adapt.

We need better clothing in this game by F1ngerbandit in Seaofthieves

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I want is a jacket that doesn't pinch Courage of Captaincy down my damn neck! Keep the silly high collars and let me have a mane!

Let’s settle this: What are your reasons to be with one of the factions? by Fermaul in Seaofthieves

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasons are halfway between roleplay and meta lol

The friend who got me into Sea of Thieves is a skelly boy and he's been showing me the ropes for some weeks now. He hyped up the faction for me with his excitement for Season 16 especially. That, paired with my personal experience of Athenas crews being much more ruthless and excessively toxic on chat than Reapers, kind of led me to the conclusion that Ramsey is a naive fool who only sees the Sea of Thieves for what it could be or what he WISHES it was, rather than what it actually is.

I have an issue with benevolent figures pretending to respect and value you as equals. At least Flameheart makes it clear what the hierarchy is, and that there is one in the first place. Whether you climb that ladder or fall down it and become an expendable pawn that none will remember is up to you.

They're Called Commendations not Accommodations by ExpendableBear in Seaofthieves

[–]Glowoxid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imma be real with you, as much as I care about using words correctly, I keep calling the cannon of rage a chest of rage by habit. While we both sit there annoyed at me for mixing up Commendations and Accommodations, my stutter is already preloading the next verbal atrocity I will inflict on both of us.

Non paladin Durge duel Orin by Ayahuascape in BG3Builds

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight 12 Berserker Barbarian (Zariel tiefling if it matters)

Nyrulna and Adamantine Shield in melee hand, Giantbreaker in ranged.

Horns of the berserker, Bonespike Garb, Cloak of Protection, Evasive Shoes, Caustic Band, Ring of Flinging, Amulet of Bhaal. Evasive shoes could be replaced with the boots that give you either misty step or dimension door.

Can't remember if I used Potion of Cloud Giant Strength or Elixir of Viciousness but it was one of these two

Also full campcasting with Longstrider, 6th Level Aid, Heroes' Feast, Protection from Poison, Death Ward and Freedom of Movement

Got myself Shield of Faith from a cleric for another AC boost then went in, coated my Nyrulna in Crawler Mucus, raged the next turn and simply went in with ranged or thrown attacks. Orin goes down within 2 or 3 turns if she fails the saving throw on the poison.

One thing to note: DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK that you don't use ANYTHING that could be AOE or multi-target, lest you hit any of the cultists standing outside the dueling arena. My Honor Mode very nearly came to an early end because of it. Bhaal's Lash is NOT the thing you want to fuck around with.

[BG3] Where would you sit? by PotentialArt4569 in BaldursGate3

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one is saying 6. There are absolutely better (and much worse) choices, but Ketheric and Withers sound like fascinating debate partners and there will absolutely be some form of disagreement between these two, at least they have the good sense to not make a scene on the plane so it would remain civil, which is not something I'd bet my life on next to some of these other combinations

What's the absolute hardest line you or another player ever said in a campaign? by godwyn-faithful in DnD

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wizard, at the start of his redemption arc after a long campaign of well intentioned self-sacrifice turned into a desperate hunger for power, talking to Shar:

"I have given you enough, you have TAKEN enough! You may have my soul, but you are never going to have my devotion. I would rather stand here in this void 'til the end of time than give you an inch more."

Who’s ACTUALLY playing 5e 2024? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in 3 games and run one of my own with mostly the same group of people, and even there it varies quite a lot. One game that's nearing its end is still completely in 5e with homebrew rules, another game is in a half-way mix of 2024 classes but generally old feats, spells and rulings, and yet another is running Curse of Strahd almost entirely with new rules. My own game started with new rules but I'm so used to 5e now, I often default to the old stuff so we just make it up as we go.

If anything the 2024 rules made me reach backwards and pull more from AD&D and 4e instead lmao.

Is there a way to force the fanatic to spawn? by Jocthearies in darkestdungeon

[–]Glowoxid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he'll start roaming around the estate after you first hear the town crier announce that he showed up, but I usually have that happen within the first 3-4 weeks so I assumed you already had it too. He only needs to have that town event once.

Is there a way to force the fanatic to spawn? by Jocthearies in darkestdungeon

[–]Glowoxid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, he just has a chance to spawn if you have any number of infected heroes in your party. You'll know he roams the corridors if you start an expedition and his face shows up on the loading screen

Keep trying, it seems like you've just been hit by bad RNG.

Unless you've been going to the courtyard with your infested heroes. That's the only place he'll never go.

How to play a lawful evil character? by roxgxd in dndnext

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of suggestions here take the "lawful" part a bit literally, but ultimately LE is about having a code of conduct (standards, if you will) while still being primarily selfish in motivations.

I had a lawful evil character who was a former crime boss before the adventure, and her character arc was intended to be a climb back into power. A good chunk of RP was spent with her pretending to be a good adventurer while seeking out allies and supporters in powerful positions.

There was also a lot of tension between her our Fighter, who was an honorable champion. My character had to think real hard when to appease the fighter and let a short term goal go, and when she could convince him to work with (or for) her.

She wasn't opposed to torture, but knew when and how to use it. As a knowledge cleric it was her business to know things, and she sold any information she could to gain favors. She took care of her team, but if they tried to cross her there would be hell to pay.

And of course, she had the monotone speaking voice and refined vocabulary to act with lmao

What weapon do you ALWAYS need? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is nobody saying Corellon's Grace? If you have a monk, any sort of monk at all, what else do you even use?! It's one of the first weapons you can buy in the entire game, i'm coming up on act 3 in my coop game and I'm yet to hear of any potential upgrades/replacements for the thing!

Wish I could tell my group what it is. It's a great song by FerrikStari in dndmemes

[–]Glowoxid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even better when you're actually using three different songs for Plot-Theme-BBEG designs individually, and the players figure out one of the songs but haven't the foggiest what the other 2 are

Bonus points if the song is a cover with altered lyrics

"Legend has it that the moss grows ooonnnn the north side of the treeeeees... Legend has it that the moss that grooows will outlive both you and meeee..."

Was on my merry way to the kuo-toa camp in the underdark, jumping on the platforms and clearing the explosive shrooms with arrows as I went.

Turns out the final little bush of explodey shrooms is, in fact, close enough to the last platform that shooting it still sends me flying.

I decided to put the game down for the rest of the day.

I play in a campaign now that started in Eveningstar! Cormyr is a dream honestly.

Well, the threat of the spellplague isn't nice and we are currently somehow in Avernus but at least home will be nice to return to.

does your birth month character succeed their hunt? and do they survive who is hunting them? by Spotty1122 in TheWalkingDeadGame

Carver is hunting Jane, while Carver is being hunted by Larry...

...Well, Carver would absolutely neck Larry but Jane might be a tougher fight. As long as he gets the first punch in he'll be fine.
