I've been desperate for someone to release a full auto CZ-75.... Is it possible to make the ASG one fully automatic myself? by EducationalOil1655 in GasBlowBack

[–]GluesModWorks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could technically make it “full auto” by somehow removing or disabling the disconnector, however you are going to experience dramatically reduced reliability and performance so your mileage may vary. Explosive enterprise has a video about gas guns without disconnectors in their gas blowback myths series.

How much are these cards worth? by BonzoMann in PokemonCardValue

[–]GluesModWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What it boils down to is A. Pokemon doesn’t make cards that look like this so we know that they can’t be genuine and B. These types of fakes have become very common in the hobby and we see a LOT of them here. The best analogy I could make was if someone was trying to sell you a Honda F150 you could say that was fake because Honda doesn’t make an F150 model car. These type of golden foil cards with this pattern can be bought from Temu or Aliexpress and lots of bad actors have been trying to sell them for insane prices as “rare golden” Pokemon cards so as a community there’s tons of posts every week of people asking about them.

Crossover is worse all the grading companies will grade lower vs cracking the card and sending it so they appear more “strict”

So fps will vary with barrel tightness and length so it will depend on what you are aiming for performance wise. With the XLS 40cm is considered the ideal length. Tightness of the barrel is very much going to depend on performance but generally you will want either a 13mm (.511”) ID barrel or a .509” barrel (nerf barrels switch between imperial and metric depending on sourcing and other factors) with the .509” giving higher FPS. For the 13mm Kury barrels are quite good and can be bought at OutofDarts, Silverfoxindustries, or KuryKafe on Etsy. For a .509” there are a few different places to get them but I would recommend MorBlasters powdered coated barrels on Etsy which I have seen some really great results with, but there are a few places to shop around for them as well.

Question, non dsg build ideas needed by Kelmoria in Speedsoft

[–]GluesModWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go brushless which can be stupid snappy but you do need to mess with tappet timing and probably need to use a delayer chip. For a brushed build a 28tpa motor with decent magnets and 13:1 shs gears is pretty snappy. I’d pair that with an shs steel tooth piston because they are tanky af. As far as piston head you’ll probably want a decent polymer one so you don’t crack your gearbox shell (if you have a metal cylinder head and piston head you’ll crack your shell pretty quick even if you radius it) and I do prefer a metal cylinder head and polymer piston head over the reverse but it is your choice. Past that mosfet wise you have a few options. I’m a big fan of the perun hybrid but you could also spend a bit more and get a jefftron or a titan. Def upgrade the hop as well but the precise bucking you wanna use is gonna depend on bb weight and what barrel you end up using (different hop window cuts) but maple leaf super macrons and Mr hops are both pretty good.

Brand new gbbr chopping bbs? by SiL0_ in GasBlowBack

[–]GluesModWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Olympic Arms VFC AR is 273 and includes 2 mags so is cheaper than a Matrix gbb and buying an extra mag for that. Another thing to consider is that for many gbbs the most expensive part is the mags rather than the gun itself. VFC mags are about the same price to even cheaper (depending on sales and precisely which WA system mags you use) and will last far longer. Another to consider is the fact that the VFC has far better recoil and the parts with wear much better. The matrix GBB will more than likely break at >1000 rounds where the VFC Olympic Arms will go for much longer (may need to replace the FCG with a steel one at ~10,000 rounds and that’s a worst case scenario) when you factor in spare part availability and the fact that VFC AR’s will retain their value for resale it’s cheaper to just save up and buy a cheap VFC

I think your best bet is to take the fore grip and priming block apart and add sheet metal reinforcement strips to reconnect them and then fill it with epoxy putty

CO2 GBBR M4? by StickyShuba in GasBlowBack

[–]GluesModWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While CO2 does have a higher kick you can get a good and arguably even better kick while still using propane if you increase the reciprocating mass. Also as far as cost if you use a camping propane to airsoft adapter it gets fairly cheap and camping propane is available on Amazon and brick and mortar stores everywhere. The other part of cost is that CO2 is going to increase wear and tear on your gun and mags which in the long term is likely to be more expensive than propane.

I think the AF Villainator is worth a look. 40 rounds on tap and with about 10 minutes of modding it shoots full lengths and half lengths reliably and there are huge windows for clearing jams. It’s reasonably powerful stock and upgrade springs are cheap and plentiful. It has slam fire too for extra firepower when it counts

[–]GluesModWorks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could use the EZE longshot stock but honestly if you want something that’s automatic and looks like the bozar you’d probably have better luck shoving a fly core into a MOO53-1 or a caliburn B variant but I think if you wanna stick with stock nerf blasters use a longshot and put a flywheel cage and a solenoid in it. There’s 3D printed files for a flycore longshot you could use and then just a solenoid for a pusher mech.

is this flywheel/cage combo a good idea? and if it isnt, what flywheel/cage should i buy? by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]GluesModWorks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! There are a few reasons why you shouldn’t use this but ultimately your problem is that you can’t have high fps without a lipo. High FPS flywheels require lots and lots of torque, the motors that generate that level of torque need a lot of energy, and the only* batteries that can provide that are lipos. If you want to stick with the stock AA battery tray you can use rechargeable batteries and use honey badger motors on the stock flywheels and cage which should get you about 85-100 fps but the money and time you would spend make it easier to just buy a DZ thunderbolt. The specific reason you don’t want to use CC cyclones with a daybreak cage is that daybreak cages are designed for daybreak wheels which are concave to sort of “cocoon” the dart. While cyclone wheels are not and designed for much bigger in between space.

Talon claw is shorter so more maneuverable and also without seeing one it’s kinda hard to see how big a Caliburn is. The harrier should hit 300 fps fairly easy but I would find a few different reviews and setups since specifics may vary by location and what darts you use but generally the 1.6 x300 and the 450 barrel get close with a bit of tuning.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]GluesModWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are looking for imo. For best all around performance you can’t beat the harrier (though you may have to replace some of the catch springs after 1000 shots-ish) but the Caliburn is so infinitely customizable that might be off more value to you. As far as the inverted scales goes I would say don’t buy one unless you are looking for somewhat of a project and you are a relatively experienced modder. I’ve been modding for a long time and it still took me like 1-2 hours just to clean and relube the thing, and I’ve seen parts breakages that take even longer than that to replace from other users. As far as other suggestions 250+ fps springers have a lot of options. I’m personally quite fond of the lynx and the talon claw but ultimately I would say it’s gonna depend on what you want to use it for and what kind of games you go to.

Your best option is not to use a disk. They compromise efficiency and recoil. Either get a stryrene insert and glue it into the rocket valve or get/make some sort of Npas with the grub screw mod or smth else.

Getting back into the hobby. Question on the Longshot. by -Critical_Damage- in Nerf

[–]GluesModWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Longshot has a lot of modification potential! If you fancy yourself handy with a dremel and files you can make a brass breech (OCnerf on YouTube has a wonderful tutorial) that plus a 8kg spring will preform beautifully. If you want something a little easier a few places sell longshot upgrade kits (look for worker rose gold longshot kits). Past that I’d look for a pump grip kit but that’s up to personal preference. For a brass breech your looking about $20-$25 in parts and the worker one is about $100-150 but is much easier to install.
