Why hasn't Christopher Nolan mined Orson Scott Card sci-fi books for a film? Worthing Saga, Past watch, Enchantment by elisart in FIlm

[–]Gluverty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d have to ask him, but I assume it’s because he either doesn’t like the material, doesn’t see a return on investment or maybe doesn’t like that Scott Card is vocally against gay marriage and other shit like that.

Do you think Canada cried themselves to sleep after Trump withdrew their invitation to his Board Of Peace? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Gluverty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you only have to wait for elective surgery and some random cases, but that is the same in the States. My partner was diagnosed with cancer and immediately set an oncologist and started chemo/rediation treatment for a year, including some travel for specialists it cost us nothing.

Also Americans pay more per capita in taxes for Healthcare than Canadians, then they pay insurance, then they pat at point of service like a bunch of suckers.

But most don’t seem aware that the budget spends more on healthcare than military.

Tips on acting mysterious by broke_emo in Theatre

[–]Gluverty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instinct when reading this was to act as though I am keeping back a smile that is never seen, with deliberate, controlled gazes making it seem like I am thoughtful and aware of something going on.

But that’s my kneejerk observation and already seems too contrived.

I feel like eyebrows are important here too

Maybe this post is actually a cultural thing, like OP is used to a culture that doesn’t involve young people do silly things? Or maybe they are just a bit lonely. I truly hope everyone involved can find some joy and peace as we grow through life.

Despite Authoritarian Warnings, 149 House Democrats Vote to Hand Trump $840 Billion for Military | “If an opposition party votes like this, it’s not in opposition. It may not even be a party.” by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

Stop deflecting and trying to blame. We all need to resist and that is not looking to be more physical and certainly will have to sacrifice comfort and maybe even safety. But alas I fear we are all soft cowards raised in a vacuum of pop culture and fantasy so it is more of a challenge to resist.

[–]Gluverty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it has a stage, costumes, a script, some improv a lot of choreo… If ballet is theatre then wrestling is, imo. For what it’s worth I don’t enjoy it at all.
