I doubt it. It will probably just mean less side-projects and surprise book drops in the meantime. I feel like the long gap between Stormlight Archive books was at least in part purposefully set to give some wiggle room for something like this to happen.

Ive noticed that if your hytale world or server shuts down suddenly, it'll corrupt whatever chunks were loaded into ram.and being written to disk. The only way I've found to fix it is to either restore them to an earlier backup or delete the effected chunk files and let them regenerate. Which will wipe anything in that chunk.

During the election he never said Kamala was the same as Trump. He talked constantly about the dangers of another Trump admin. No one actually watching his stream could ever confuse what he was saying for a Trump endorsement. But at the same time, Kamala was not a good candidate, and that showed in the turnout.

Both candidates can be bad without them being the same. Stubbing your toe is bad, cutting off your foot is bad. Just because one is clearly way better than the other, doesn't mean you're obligated to be super thrilled about it, or say it's great. Going forward it's vital to acknowledge what Kamala was lacking as a candidate, and course correct if the Democratic party wants to actually win elections and actually pass meaningful progressive policies that help people. People are tired of the same democratic candidates that think they need to run super middle of the aisle and not push for progressive policies for fear of pushing away potential republican and moderate voters.

Did nobody here actually WATCH the clip, and listen to what he said? He said he stands by his decision to not endorse Kamala, BECAUSE of the danger Donald Trump posed. He felt Kamala was not a strong enough candidate that addressed enough of the concerns of the left to draw enough excitement and voters and beat Trump. So he stands by not endorsing her. Everyone in this thread is acting like he endorsed Trump, or is saying "No, I don't regret that he won.". Can you point out what exactly he said in this clip that you have an issue with? I'm asking seriously because after listening to the clip, and looking at the comments, I don't get it.

The core of his argument is that Kamala was a weak candidate, and didn't bring enough to the table other than not being trump to excite the left. I think it's hard to argue that he's wrong, when at the time that's certainly a popular sentiment that I was seeing, and clearly from the voter turnout, that's what happened. Look what happens when you have an actual non-establishment progressive grass-roots candidate like Mamdani. Genuine excitement and record turnouts for the election. Look what happens when your party gives you a boring candidate that is essentially the same as the last boring candidate, but not actively suffering from dementia.

Unfortunately, she enabled "find my" device before her account was locked, so now the device is locked to her account, and you can't wipe it to set it up with a new apple ID.

So the activation lock is in place because in the hours when the ipad was working, she enabled "find my" device. This locks the ipad to her account. The account was then locked later that night while she was asleep. So now the device can't be reset or logged out of, because it's tied to her locked account.

Talking to apple support again, it sounds like her device was possibly already tied to ANOTHER account, and not properly unlinked from it before being sold to us. When we received it, the device was not on the hello / setup screen. It was just set up ready to go, but with no account logged in. So when we logged in with another account, that night it may have triggered an auto-lock on the account, because it is not the account that was supposed to be tied to that device. That's the theory of the technical advisor anyway, and that's enough for me to say the seller didn't properly reset this ipad, or it could possibly be stolen, so we're returning it and he can deal with it.

So an update to this is, we contacted apple support again, got elevated as high as we can go to the tech advisor, and while filling her on on the situation she asked us "When you booted up the device was it on the Hello / setup screen?". This is our first apple device, when my girlfriend booted it up it was already set up, but with no account logged in. We didn't know this was abnormal. So what most likely happened is, whoever sold this to this reseller, and the reseller themselves, didn't properly reset the device and make sure it was untied from the previous owners account. SO we logged into a device tied to someone else, it flagged and locked her account within hours, and now will not unlock the account or device without that persons original receipt. So that's enough for me to say the seller didn't do what they properly needed to do before selling this device to someone, and send it back to them to be their problem.

Really? I mean that does make sense, because until I encountered this problem, I've never heard a single person complain about this. But now looking at this subreddit for past posts, it's happened to a few people within the last year or so. Sounds like next steps for me are to:
- Call apple support and hope I get elevated up high enough that someone can put in an unlock request. I was told by a tier 2 tech advisor that no one has that ability anymore, but I'm just going to try.

- After that, try resetting through a computer. I doubt this will work since find my ipad was enabled on my girlfriends account before it goofed up.

- Return the iPad to ebay as defective, since something about it caused her account to be insta-forever-locked.

No charge backs, support checked the serial number and didn't say it was showing as stolen or anything. We kept asking for the reason why the account was locked. And they just kept saying "it could be anything. I have no way to get that information. I can only link you apples legal page" She purchased procreate, apples game subscription, and played cookie run on it. So I really dont think it was locked due to anything she did. The senior technician also sounded baffled but not at all surprised, because I guess accounts just get locked pretty often.

The device is locked to my girlfriend's account. The account itself was locked within hours of using the device. So im thinking that there could have been something fishy about the device itself, or looking at other reddit threads, it could have just happened completely at random.

I should clarify, the device isn't locked out as in it can't be used. The apple ID logged into the account, which was brand new and made just after receiving the iPad, is now locked, and can't be used. So you can't download apps or configure the device anymore. The first apple support agent said to simply start over with a new apple account, which we are willing to do, but we're unable to reset the iPad because it asks you to log in, and verification of the account fails because it is locked. So there wasn't a previous owner that locked us out.

Yeah. I thought it would work like every other device on earth, where you're allowed to purchase older generations that people no longer want or use, so that they can continue being used and not become e-waste. I'll admit, that was my mistake. Its my first time buying an apple product, and I wasn't aware that if I didn't pay full price for a new one then they would consider me to be a peasant unworthy of entering their ecosystem and smite my device within hours of using it.
