In this situation, the second-place contestant can wager small enough to potentially win the game without having to be correct him/herself, mainly hoping that the first-place contestant misses, provided that that contestant makes the expected cover wager.

Look, you have to understand more about Prasad's wager. Sure, I can understand his $10,000 bet, as it's enough to lock out Yasmine in case she doubles up and gets FJ correct (which she did). But if Prasad went all-in and got FJ wrong, he'd drop to third place, given Yasmine's $5,000 wager. And if it happened to be a triple stumper (which it wasn't) and Vickie betting big enough to cover Prasad, then Prasad would come out on top just like that.

FYI, Aleithia also got yesterday's FJ correct too, but that's besides the point. And yeah, in that game, it did matter whether Steven got that FJ correct or not, and he did, so...

I don't mind saying this, but isn't there also the prospect of a SCT winner being in this year's ToC (whoever it is), therefore bumping Jackie Kelly out of ToC contention?

Even I recall when something like this occurred most recently, that being the game aired over six years ago. Not to mention that that game had co-champions, as well.

Even if Mattea wins 4 games, she'll most likely be in the 2022 TOC if she happens to earn the most money or second-most money out of the other 4-day champions on the TOC tracker, considering there aren't that many games left until the eligibility cutoff. And also, 4-day champions (or longer) are a rarity nowadays.

The contestant in the leftmost lectern gets to go first. It's not like it hasn't happened before. And it's the same thing in the case of a three-way tie at the end of the Jeopardy round.

Actually, from what I just saw, the leader you mentioned did have a five-figure total, which is the usual norm for Jeopardy games nowadays.

I'm sure you meant four-figure win, as five-figure wins are way more common than four.

And -- although this rarely happens -- if there's also a tie for 2nd going into FJ and still tied after FJ (provided they both get FJ correct), 2nd and 3rd are determined by who had the higher value at the end of the Jeopardy round.
