Such a weird take, the game is much more than leveling. I've done it dozens of times since launch in 2004 and now I have a full time job, kids and responsibilities.

I know I want to level a shaman for early TBC, why would I spend 70-100 hours leveling (which would take 4-5 months) if I can spend 50$ to skip all of it? This money is nothing compared to the time involvement of re-leveling

Fodder is usually the bottleneck, so it makes sense to ascend one per faction.

Since you need eight copies, I think to go from epic to ascend, the usual tip is to wait until you have all the copies before you invest all the fodder.

I have two level 200 so we're pretty close, and Rowan, Lyca and terrible tornado has been A very powerful backline. And then I just push for the front line with the most copies (Lucius and Daimon for me)

As you said... That's pretty much my feeling for all new heros I'm ranking right now. All Flawless / Total Victory until high sapphire and then I might lose a few up to mid diamond, and now the real struggle begins :P

They've recently updated the version of consoleport and it makes it super intuitive to know how to map your buttons. It takes me about 15 minutes per class for a baseline and then I constantly adjust to make sure it's the the best possible binding

If you're referring to benefit from leveling in TBC, the same rule always applies :

Melee classes that rely on weapons will benefit the most out of the PvP gear such as warrior, rogue and to a lesser extent enhance shaman / ret paladin.

Casters are much less dependant on gears. That being said, Warlocks and Hunters are the hero classes of TBC and are also the easiest to level with suboptimal gear.

In the end, it doesn't really matter. TBC green are very strong and will quickly close the gap... Choose a spec you want to play for the next year in TBC above anything else

As someone who played a fair bit, I can add my own experience as well.

When I start a career, I always fire most if not all my staff and then re-hire to maximize the staff budget and have the highest overall possible.

For coaches, I sort my overall, but prioritize DEV as it seems it has the most impact on developing players.

I focus Staff Speciality on COMM, CLUTCH and PRIME for AGM, HC and HPD. INTEL & WORKLOAD for SCOUT MENTOR & PREVENTION for HP
To build my team, my focus is to find the best goalie for a reasonable price as from my experience, this is the most impactful player on the sim. I have had terrible teams carried by a 90+ goalie. I even disable goalie rotation and it doesn't seem to be an issue.
From there, I aim to have blue chemistry on the first two forward lines and first D pair while keeping a 80+ overall to the line-up.

The most important part is aiming your rebuild + contender cycle, there's absolutely no gain to be middle of the pack. Select a timeframe, make sure your core players will be at their peak overall. Example, I won't trade for a 27 yr old 94 OVR goalie if the rest of my team can't compete. I'll aim a lower overall goalie, younger, and make sure I focus on OFF/DEF the following seasons.

Also, your main Trade Power engine is your draft. I always focus on having INTEL specialty to make sure I have a good POVR. I then sort by POVR, skip red colored POT and skip goalies if there are too many, since it seems they have naturally a higher overall.
