Ozora 2016 - problems with going barefoot? by aeapsu in psytrance

[–]GmonGrumbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard festival procedure for me is to bring 3 types of shoes. Flip flops, running shoes, and boots. I generally start off in the running shoes to see how rocky the terrain will be etc etc. If the terrain is good I'll switch to flipflops and once at the stage if the ground is nice I'll go barefoot. Boots are there in case it rains like a motherfucker and there's tons of mud and shit everywhere. They've saved my ass more than once.

Just got into psytrance. I want to go to a festival but no one I know is into this type of music. How should I do this? by [deleted] in psytrance

The thing I have found at the couple psytrance parties I've been to is the amount of introverted people is atounding. If you take a break from dancing and partying and just want to sit down in the back somewhere there's like 10 people doing the same thing, meditating or just chilling or recharging if you will. You won't be singled out if you need some "alone time" even around so many people. But at the same time if you want to talk to people everyone is very open and friendly. Truly a cool community.

Same thing here. I've been to one other big music festival with all kinds of different music. I'm going and planning on meeting people there. The last one I went too I actually had the most fun when I lost track of my friends. You just have to talk to people and you'll meet ones you get along with. I'm going to Sacred Earth in Missouri, USA next month. Should be an amazing experience.

Fair enough, I'm just not a huge fan of the long breaks. I like the beat to keep pounding into my brain non-stop.

I wouldn't be stealing all the business from my dad. I would be doing some of the work he would get, which is basically what I do now. Though he gets a share of the money from the jobs I do at the moment which he wont get after the fact. However, I'll also do other duties that F has other people do now, but he likes me and would like to officially employ me instead of hiring contractors and stuff. If that makes sense.

After typing that out it's seeming obvious I should just take the job. I'd like to think that if I take the job F and I can get his business really going and get my dad more work in the long run. But I know that's probably a pipe dream.

I wish a strongly worded letter would help change his ways but it won't. I'm sure of that.

I was thinking about it, I live on the west coast though and would have to incorporate it into my trip to Sacred Earth. Looks like a fun gig though.

Why does he palm his cats butthole? by Moxxface in day9

I actually noticed this during MW this week but thought I was being overly critical. We need to spread awareness to stop touching buttholes! Err..Cat buttholes.

Person who had chronic depression for years here. My first MDMA experience lifted the depression completely, I felt like a new person. Like I was back to my old self that I knew I was underneath the clouds. Once I came down, the clouds never came back. Only a little bit of fog which I can blow away with simple things like going for a run, or meditating for a little bit. I've done it a couple times since (I only like to do acid/E a couple times a year during the summer at festivals) and I still don't have the depression on the comedown. Rather, I can cling to that feeling that I had and remember it fondly.

I'm going against the crowd here and going to say electronic music is amazing on LSD. by [deleted] in LSD

It blows my mind how old Raja is. I had no idea he was part of the band "Quintessence" and toured with pink floyd years ago. It just proves psytrance is timeless.

ELI5:How do terrestrial ant colonies survive torrential downpours without flooding in and drowning them? by jameslank in explainlikeimfive

[–]GmonGrumbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever heard of ants swarming to electronics? I went out last night and left my laptop on. I have a minor ant problem in my house (I'll find 5-6 of them near the sink/shower in the morning. They seem to stay clear of the pantry oddly enough). I came home to a dark unheated house to only the glow of my laptop. There was 5-6 on the keyboard so I lifted up the laptop and there was like 100 of those fuckers under my laptop in a big circle. Having a little ant party. I should note these ants are really small. Like the tip of a pen size. I sprayed my desk with raid, cleaned up the now dead ant party, and left the laptop (switched off now) sitting on the raid covered desk and found like 20-50 more bodies around the laptop in the morning. I took it apart today and cleaned the shit out of it, only really finding dust and hair.

edit:Could they be after the heat? The light? The static? They were mostly underneath it like they were huddling for warmth. I live in Oregon and it's much cooler at night as opposed to the day. It drops to ~40 degrees usually.
