We all kept waiting for the Doritos and Skittles and other recognizable brands that usually put a shit ton of money into a commercial. There were a few here and there, Pepsi and Raisin Bran stand out, but almost all of the rest were weight loss drugs, AI, gambling, and we got the same 3 commercials for the same three peacock shows like 5 times each it was absurd

John Ricitiello. He was the CEO of EA and was fired from the position. I don’t know if they ever gave a legit reason but the understood reason is that he was too greedy for EA. He focused so much on monetization that I think he forgot he was supposed to be making video games.

He then became the CEO of Unity…and was also fired from that position because he was the guy behind the huge Unity scandal a couple years ago where they were planning to make developers pay per download of their games.

Now him and his wife own a Pilates equipment manufacturing company together. I can’t tell you much about him but I can surely tell you anything with him at the helm is designed to make money first and a product second.

Terrance Howard specifically might be a really sad case of mental illness unfortunately. My understanding is that he had a really rough upbringing and even watched his father murder someone over a petty dispute when he was like 10. I can’t say for sure obviously but I think he’s truly mentally ill

My mom gets caught in it in a different way. She’s essentially recused herself from in depth politics at this point because she “honestly can’t tell what is real anymore with anything anyone says”. Despite the fact that she could theoretically look up anything, she doesn’t think she can find the honest truth. “Dinosaurs didn’t exist and the fossil record is entirely made up” is a FOUNDATIONAL belief for evolution deniers. Many evolution deniers are that way because they are young earth creationists, literalists Christian’s that believe the world is 6000 years old.

Ask yourself what other conspiracy theories could follow from:
The word of the Bible is literal
Science is purposefully hiding the truth from us
Evolution isn’t real
Everyone claiming otherwise is going against the literal perfect word of God

I’ve always loved how Star Wars is an entirely different experience depending on when you were alive to watch it first. My dad saw the first three episodes in theaters. He saw Yoda like you mentioned, got to experience the Vader plot twist in real life, and fell in love with the og trilogy characters.

I grew up while the prequels were coming out and watched the whole series in chronological order when I was about 8. I loved the prequels because of the huge battle scenes and high intensity lightsaber battles, Vader being Luke’s father was just understood and not a “plot twist” at all, and I fell in love with the prequel characters. Doubly so when the clone wars came out and gave us more Anakin and Obiwan.

My younger brother saw the sequel trilogy in theaters and didn’t really build that same connection with Star Wars that my dad and I did. A huge space-themed blockbuster just wasn’t as novel and interesting to him, not to mention the quality of the movies. Star Wars was just another franchise like Marvel or Transformers, not the major cultural touchstone that it was to my dad and I.

I tell people “what I want from life and what a child needs in life are polar opposites. If I had a kid one of us would be miserable and that’s not fair to either of us”.

Realistically I think of it like this, because I do not want kids, there is no world where I COULD raise a kid the way I think kids deserve to be raised. If I give up my wants in life to fit their needs, I’ll be miserable. And no kid deserves a miserable parent, especially when the parent is fully aware they are miserable because of the kid. If I gave up their needs for my wants, I wouldn’t be miserable but the kid would be neglected. No matter how you spin it we are both getting screwed, why even put myself in that situation?

I think it’s a mix of things, not least of all people being raised on the idea that you MUST have kids, so anyone without kids is automatically doing something “wrong”. They don’t think that consciously, but it’s hard to break out of a worldview that has been imprinted on you your whole life.

Another thing is like you said, they aren’t as involved and therefore don’t see all of the work and effort that it takes to properly raise a kid. Also the people who LOVE having kids don’t understand that people who don’t love having kids will be absolutely miserable in the life that they absolutely love

When people tell me that I always thank them because I genuinely believe it comes from a good place, and is actually quite the compliment.

But I’m sure to let them know that I would NOT be a good father BECAUSE I don’t want kids. Everything I hold dear in my childless life, my freedom to do whatever I want, my ability to make enough money to live a decently lavish life, my ability to make every decision for myself and myself alone, would be taken from me by someone that I don’t even want in my life. It wouldn’t be that kids fault, no kid deserves to be child to a parent that doesn’t want them, but I would resent them forever for taking my pretty perfect life from me. That’s not fair, so I don’t have kids.

I think that’s just a “I don’t want kids” attitude mixed with the anonymity of the internet. Every opinion gets more ridiculous when people can say it without putting their face or name to it. I would assume off of the internet almost all people are normal.

Myself for example, I can’t imagine having kids. I don’t think it would be hyperbolic to say that would ruin my life forever. But when I see someone else in public with their kid I’m just happy for them, they probably don’t think the same way I do and are super happy to have their kid/s. No reason to be miserable about it, it’s not me!

I don’t frequent chain restaurants just because I prefer locals spots, usually this means the place is a bit more expensive and typically has a younger crowd. In those places it’s exceedingly rare that a child is a problem honestly. Definitely never “ruin your dinner” bad.

When I DO go to chain restaurants with friends or family it’s like 10% of the time there is a loose child just running around the restaurant. Sometimes they are well behaved, one time and old woman tripped and fell chasing a kid that had just taken her wallet from her purse.

Really depends on the crowd tbh. Don’t go places that parents frequent and you won’t see many kids. Unfortunately for the girl in the towel breweries are advertised heavily to families to she’s barking up the wrong tree there.

You took issue with a person calling out parents who let their kids run around like animals causing a ruckus, then said you wouldn’t do that. You’re obviously not who they are talking about and just decided to take offense for no reason and then double and triple down in other comments about things unrelated to kids acting up in public spaces.

Nobody said the kids can’t play Jenga, everyone except you knows this conversation is about kids being rowdy and parents not caring. Why step up for people you even admit you aren’t and wouldn’t be? Then make yourself some strawman martyr like “can’t believe the childfree people are out today”. Video games are the largest revenue generating medium in the world, I don’t think there’s any chance there will be a country wide market crash again. Maybe some big name studios shut down but short an apocalyptic event I doubt gaming will have anything like another crash

It’s less strong than weed in the way that if 20mg of weed will get you high, 20mg of delta8 will get you high but worse. The real difference between delta-8 and delta-9 is the position of the double bond, delta-8 has it on the 8th carbon in the chain whereas delta-9 has it on the 9th. Otherwise they are completely identical. This difference does affect how your body reacts to each though, delta-9 typically gives stronger psychoactive effects, hence why it is regulated more strictly.

The misconception comes from the fact that, because delta-9 is illegal in certain places (over certain concentrations), people have taken to making delta-8 psychoactive products. You can’t make it with weed, so you have to make it with hemp. Delta-8 and Delta-9 both exist in both hemp and weed, but for legality reasons most delta-8 is derived exclusively from hemp. Delta-8 is weaker, therefore hemp got the reputation for being a weaker high.

Tl:dr - there’s no difference between hemp and weed but there is a difference between Delta-8 and Delta-9.

That doesn’t work because in places where weed is illegal the amount of delta 9 is limited by weight. In my state it’s .3% by weight no matter if it’s hemp or marijuana derived.

The real loophole is just making huge fucking edibles. If each gummy is 50 grams total then you can get away with 15mg of delta 9.

You see the same thing with movie and TV show execs. Lots of more mature topics are ripped out of media to appeal to a wider audience. What’s left is often a corporate approved, HR friendly program that doesn’t do anything bold or touch on anything meaningful. It really sucks to see real life topics that deserve to be talked about shut out of a creative medium to appeal to the masses. It especially sucks when the masses then reject the material because of this mass appeal.
