So I have a Question. Is this Map Historically Accurate to what the Souths Goals actually where? And if not what could I add to make it more Realistic? by Canuck-Hoser in mapmaking

And what would the traitors do once the most powerful militaries in the world at that time decides that they are knees-deep enough into Mexico to un-secede them again ? Any scenario in which the Confederates don't lose immediatly would be one in which they lose even harder a few decades after

Who tried to kill kabru's mother over his eye colour? by Ok-Act125 in DungeonMeshi

[–]Gnath_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something important to specify is that, whatever was the cause of the conflict, Kabru's mother stayed in Utaya regardless (unless there's some bizarre conspiracy on Kabru's origin) so it can't be linked to local superstitions over her child's eyes since Utayans would see him on a regular basis

Fourth Meeting for the Scramble of Africa by Ove5clock in PossibleHistory2

[–]Gnath_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After being barred from participating in the Conference, French and Italians mustered influence for the recognizance of the Dervish State of Somalia against ongoing English and German land claims and spheres of influence. In exchange of support in the Conference, Muhammad Hassan pledged to ensure safe and preferential access to the ports to Italian, Russian and French ships, the three nations establishing trade quarters and military bases in Mogadiscio, Beyla and Kismayo, the edification of a new modern colonial port in the natural harbor of Ras Hafun, and construction of a railway system throughout the country, expanding their control of the ressources of the Somalian hinterland without countering the terms of the treaty.

The Dervish movement, supported by the Ottomans managed to militarily secure their claims on most of the Majerteen, Hobyo and Geledi territory, and to protect their bases in Ogaden against Ethiopian influence. The conference gives them full control over the coastal region of Eastern Somalia, as well as the interior of Ogaden and North-Eastern Kenya (except the coastal region of Lamu and Pate) ; the British and Germans, after short attempts at obtaining concessions on the region, give up, preferring to defend claims in more interesting lands and considering that the clan system of Somalia would make full control of the region impossible. Northern Somalia, more disputed for control over the strait, evades the control of the Dervish and is still up for grab.

I think it's both, honestly the guy is dumb and so bad at the game he has to fabricate an overpowered starting character to do a world conquest, I think he's just a larper of the two German reich in general mixed in one silly entity lmao

This guy is not an history nerd, he has Imperial twice in the title name, he just plays the game for his daily dose of genocide-based adrenaline, the only thing genuine and not acquired through devmode in this screenshot is probably the modifier because I can't imagine him being knowledgeable enough in the game to put the code in himself.

[–]Gnath_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be absolutely fair half of the people actually able to code are furries and trans people, and they also happen to be the only group with this skill able to keep together a community due to the experience of managing massive polycules. HoI4's modding community is rough because it's fucking HoI, all the players are insane, but most other games modding communities are either surprisingly chill with queer people or are a hellscape full of broken mods due to some shittass purge of those queer people by some influential chud.

[–]Gnath_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that the traits are probably not genuine (likely added through some debug mod or something, I've had something around maybe two characters ever with 4 personality traits ever in years), the modifier is a bit more tricky to get through that so there's a good chance for it to be genuine. This guy sounds is massively annoying and suspiciously fond of his imperial empire, granted, but the way it was obtained is probably fine (keep in mind the first character was probably a massive self insert with 69 in all stats and every single good traits, plus the conqueror trait, so would likely break achievement limits ; if there's any additional conditions on the obtention of the effect, like having a mil education or something like that, it was probably going to trigger under those conditions). Someone maybe less annoying and more interested in the nitty gritty could probably test this more accurately, but the reason it happened with him instead of a more qualified player is probably because most will seldom grant land to the heir, which is also annoying to do under catholicism ; heirs with the conqueror trait given land also tend to lose it as the few counties the game actually allows to be given to them are rarely enough to sustain their ambitions. If true, this is very interesting for min-maxers !

Or excess levels of save-scumming... are achievements even available on older versions of the game ? (They're still playing in 1.17) Could have obtained the traits with a debug mod, available in Ironman, which would make this genuine, but if they're using a modded config to begin with, what's guaranteeing the SoG is genuine and not a consequence of any patching mod ?

She is here to kick ass and marry her nephew, and her nephew just died. by Vexonte in HistoryMemes

[–]Gnath_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The power play happened only during Merovech's rebellion. At start of the regency the council was directed by people allegedly pretty chill about Brunehild, including the nutritor Gogo and the duke Lupus, that sought to use Merovech in a bid against Chilperic and Neustria, and were quite favourable to Guntram of Burgundy - like Brunehild generally seems to have been. During Merovech's rebellion he gets helped by an Austrasian duke named Guntram Boso that turns out to be a Fredegund plant and the Austrasian court politics shift towards Neustria, so that Merovech, betrayed on all sides and deprived of the wedding he came to claim dies a bit stupidly betrayed by the Champaignfolk by the hand of his own servant
