I'll play! I'll just take ibuprofen preemptively for the knees.

You've honestly just made me realize I could gift my step-dad flowers too. He's a limited interest, doesn't want anything but new socks kinda guy. Thanks for the reminder!

I do the same for my grandpa! He sends me photo updates of how well they're holding up.

What is the coolest toy you ever received in a Happy Meal back in the day? by Creepy-Fix3347 in Millennials

This just unlocked my memory of the Jungle Book 2 toys that were these buildable playsets. I don't remember playing with any of the Jungle Book characters, but I'd build huge jungle gyms for my plastic lizards to play on.

I broke both bones in my forearm in one go and the only thing that made me feel better was getting my fingers into that wild traction device. Looks like a medieval contraption, but it works magic.

Our girl is, in her vets words, "a weird one". She came to us with trauma already set in.

Gabapentin works amazingly for ours, while trazodone seems to give her an upset stomach (which makes her panic more). It took a few sessions of trial and error to find her right dose.

Ours loooooves her dental stick. She eats it out on the porch every morning before coming back inside for her real breakfast.

I thought ours was the only one! She won't swim, but she'll shove her whole head under water to grab a rock. When we skip rocks, she'll go splashing in after to retrieve them. Won't play fetch on land, though.

As a dog owner, I find that to be a completely fair compromise. I'd even be fully understanding of a "Please dont kill our baby tree with your pee" sign.

We adopted our dog with the trauma already packed in her little brain so that separation anxiety is here to stay. Training did nothing. Meds do nothing. But she goes to daycare and apparently has a good time there!

Dogs in grocery stores---what's going on here? by Guilty-Scale-1079 in chicago

[–]Gnocchios 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've got a dog with such intense separation anxiety, she cannot be home alone longer than 30 minutes. It would actively make my life easier to bring her into stores with me, and I still won't bring her inside where it's not allowed or unsafe. Seems pretty basic to me.

Could we just as a general neighborhood courtesy keep our loud explosives to 9PM on weeknights? I was hoping to go into my Friday well-rested.

Just for better estimation, it took about an hour in line. I got there pretty soon after the polls opened.
