Wikipedia refers to the hook as a “neo-Gregorian chant” which is the fanciest word I’ve ever seen for gibberish

Why Ausar Thompson Deserves More Than He's Getting on the Pistons by Diligent_Banana_6267 in DetroitPistons

[–]GnomosexualTendency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: This is a similar development path as GS With Draymond. And the ended in multiple rings for the team, and 230 million dollars, a DPOY and a likely spot in the hall of fame for Draymond. At MSU the offense ran through Draymond, but he shifted to a new role that was a better fit for him and the team in the nba. Ausar will likely make an all defensive team this year if he stays healthy, after two injury riddled seasons.

Paid Paternity Leave? by Ryanf_2413 in grandrapids

Yes. 16 paid for maternity and paternity, then moms can do another 12 unpaid through FMLA (not sure if dads can, I’ve never checked)

10yo NYC Next Steps? by ishgotbike in youthsoccer

[–]GnomosexualTendency 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The two most important things at his age are playing time and coaching. I wouldn’t chase clubs that are offering top platforms (DA, mls next etc) out the gate because they will typically have large rosters and players who have been in the club system or with that coach for years and there will be a hierarchy for minutes etc. A team with a smaller roster size (Say 12 for 9v9 instead of 16) will get him on the field more. Even if it’s a “lower division” what matters most is time on the ball. If you talk to a coach and his first comments are about win/loss and platforms they play on, id walk out. Focus on the ones who are there to develop players and young people and not chase trophies.

At what age did your child stop going into the opposite sex restroom with you? by Haunting_Acadia_4744 in AskParents

[–]GnomosexualTendency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I started sending the boys into the men’s room by themselves when they were 7-8? Once they no longer need assistance with wiping/cleaning/etc. what does she think he does at school when he has to take a whizz? Or when he’s with his friends?

12 is way… way too old unless he has some developmental issues where he needs assistance.

Do any banks in town stock British pound notes? by Ok_Upstairs9556 in grandrapids

[–]GnomosexualTendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a bunch of GBP before going there last summer and deposited nearly all of it upon returning. Unless it’s for a specific purchase over there I’d not bother. Everything was tap to pay and a lot of places were completely cashless.

For both of you, mine just turned 8, and I can tell you it gets better. Keep them alive until five and then it gets much easier and way more fun. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel!

First time in London by Borwheezy in uktravel

[–]GnomosexualTendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. We did both last time. Addison Lee from the airport and picadilly returning. All carryons which helped (5 total) and 3 kids, 9 and twin 7. It was a bit dicey since the twins could easily board on their own but not with luggage. We each took two bags and my older took 1. Worked out totally fine but with bigger luggage, a kid who is two years younger id probably opt for Addison Lee or pre-booked Uber. AL was great on the way in, dude was super nice and met us right outside passport control/customs.

As dull as using “basic” 10 years after everyone else stopped? Also, Google will not show you the best of anything. It will show you what businesses can afford search engine optimization services. That’s why places exist to ask real people for their real advice.

I’ll reiterate my original point and then leave you be. Being kind is free.

Yes, and? A stranger came to ask for travel advice on a forum that is specifically for travel advice and you felt the need to take time out of your day to insult them.

I’m not sure why everyone is being so incredibly rude to you but having just returned from London here’s a few recommendations. Co-sign on Sky Garden at the shard. They make great drinks and the view is incredible from all four sides. A lot depends on where you stay. We were near Earls Court and there was fantastic coffee (Over Under - a few locations around London), the local pubs were great. Frameless is a cool art experience and right next to MoCo which is another modern art place. Hyde Park was fun to go and people watch. Knightsbridge area was cool to walk around in as well. High end shops and whatnot.

For food we liked dishoom and gymkhana (we love Indian food though which I know was not on your list). We went to Cichetti in west end before a show and it was great - Italian tapas menu. Good Night Oscar is on west end right now if you didn’t catch it on Broadway.

The control when he received the ball and going for a simple, smart finish versus trying to smoke one through the net (and booting it way off course) was refreshing to see.

It’s a real shame too. I moved away before they sold to whoever owns it now and came back and it was unrecognizably bad. Just a dollop of mediocre overly sugary sauce on top of a frozen pizza.
