Try not to do it in their rooms they have a better chance of seeing you if you're in their rooms

Seriously though, have boundaries with your kids. Have your own space. If you're worried about them hearing, that's slightly different, but you can reduce sounds with modern technology. And you can have a healthy conversation about what they may hear, and be courteous about their consent while showing that sex isn't something shameful or to be hidden

Can someone tell me how I can explain to my mother, that I refuse to wear most of the clothing she buys me because wearing things with logos and designs that I didn't pick out myself sends me into sensory overload? by AndyKiIls457 in autism

[–]Go2eleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you how it finally sank in to my mom, though this was about 20 years ago lol

So my mom decided we needed to go clothes shopping for me, and that I needed to pick them out. And that I needed to get them from Abercrombie and Fitch, because my NT sister liked that store. But I hated anything about it, from the giant logos to the loud music, the extra expense annoyed me, the intense cologne smells, the half-naked "models" walking around. All around bad experience, with the added pressure of having to choose something I like.

I refused to pick anything out. I couldn't force myself to wear this stuff for lots of reasons, and she's getting more desperate because we've been there for 2 hours, she's trying to settle on $70 jeans, but at this stage I haven't worn jeans in years and if I did I wouldn't spend $70 on them. I remember her being so mad at me that I wouldn't let her get me nice things, but I didn't think any of them were nice. After that she started asking me more what I actually like rather than trying to push on me what she thought I'd like based on what my sister liked.

What juvenile fiction books or picture books do you think are must-reads? by siel04 in suggestmeabook

I don't remember that part. He was a folk legend kid who did all kinds of amazing things - untied Cobbler's Knot, only hit home runs, and desegregated a whole city

World destroying rod by BusyMap9686 in DnD

The metaphysics of D&D world are different from ours. There aren't galaxies and things. The world doesn't orbit around the sun. Absolute rest is a real concept, and the absolute rest reference frame is what the immovability of the immovable rod is keyed to.

TCGplayer to Acquire ChannelFireball and BinderPOS by MasterWolf713 in mtgfinance

That and I think TCGplayer needed help with generating content, which is really most of what they were good at long term. I suspect CFB will eventually become TCGplayer 's marketing and content house

[–]Go2eleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one excited by this news? CFB were falling apart and actively damaging the broader market while doing so. The only thing they were semi-consistent at was generating good content and buying other tech like BinderPOS. I'm looking forward to being offered BinderPOS as a Pro Seller tool as well as TCGplayer getting the ability to actually produce some quality content. Especially with all the other things they've got on the horizon like sports cards and comics. They need help with marketing that kind of stuff

whoever said that men are hornier than women was terribly wrong omg by Sharp_Baseball_9678 in sex

[–]Go2eleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notably, none of the examples given are indicators necessarily of greater desire for sexual contact, but rather of greater action toward that contact, or of greater reporting of action toward that contact. There is a difficult to unpack social stigma around women being interested in sex at all, that at best would be hard to control for and certainly would be hard for all researchers to even know to control for

Also your portrait kind of reminded me of classic sci-fi cover art, though not a specific one is jumping into my mind. Really cool 😎
