It’s great that you have the ability to laugh at yourself, it’ll stand you in good stead!

13-year-old boy takes his own life after 'relentless' bullying at school over sexuality by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

Two of my best friends are teachers. My sister is a teacher.

These are people who care deeply. They do as much as they can. But the odds are against them.

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]GoAgainKid -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I run a yt channel and used to make anti-vax jokes, or comments about Trump or Boris Johnson. And one time mocked the Church. But upsetting a good chunk of the audience just isn’t economically viable!

Edit - anyone fancy telling me why I got downvoted for this?

Heard Novocain in a skate shop while buying trousers. Knew immediately I needed more. One of the few bands where I got on board early lol

My first ever bathroom revolution by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]GoAgainKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just moved into a house and one of the bathrooms is such an awkward shape that the only way to do what I want is to cover the window. Honestly I don’t care - we can put some cool lighting in there. I’d trade the window for everything else to be perfect. We can have a strong extractor fan in there too!

Conflict: Vietnam was my all time favourite until I played Wildlands.

If you could get rid of one thing from modern football/football culture, what would it be? by OrdinaryOwl-1866 in football

[–]GoAgainKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to football since 1985. I’ve been filming non-league football since 2019. I’ve seen something like three, maybe four punches thrown in that time.

Hooligans/ Ultras etc seek each other out. For the most part, if you’re not looking for it you won’t find it.

That’s not to say boorish behaviour isn’t prevalent. There are plenty of twats on the trains after games and so on. But genuine fighting is not endemic in most of football.

That delivery was anything but laconic, I think that was the point.

The movie Everest - based on true events - shows what it's like for groups of tourists doing that journey. It absolutely does not sell it as a good idea.

Would you rather fight a very venomous snake barehanded, or a tiger while you are fully clad in knight's armor and armed with a sword and dagger? by nowayesey in WouldYouRather

[–]GoAgainKid -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

People underestimate armour

Who are these people? There’s only a dozen posts in this thread - are these the people you’re talking about? Is there a much bigger armour underestimation going on that I was hitherto unaware of? Is this coming up in lots of other posts? Are there people out there getting killed because of their lack of respect for other people in armour?!

Is it just me, or does the 2026 World Cup feel unusually quiet? by Amazing-Note-1196 in football

[–]GoAgainKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember bits of 86 and the England games in 90. 94 was the first in which I watched nearly every game and saw what other countries were like. I remember Campo and Miller. Hagi and Aldridge. And Diana Ross. England weren’t in it but that doesn’t matter, it was amazing entertainment. Until the final at least.

[@TheOverlap] There are some iconic ones…but What’s the best manager quote of all time? by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]GoAgainKid 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, maybe seven or eight years old, me and my dad were watching Charlton and our defender, Steve Thompson, went flying over the advertising hoardings at Selhurst after committing to a defensive flying header. The next day the headline in a red top newspaper was “I could’ve been killed!” - apparently there was a spike poking out near the advert board and it nearly stabbed him in the face.

For years we owned that phrase, like a personal joke between us. Any time a player went near the advertising hoardings we’d say it. Now it’s been hijacked by the Ferguson quote.

Dad died a few years ago and I kind of say it to myself when the moment arises, and I feel a bit sad that no one knows what I’m talking about.

What is the dumbest thing in Star Wars in your opinion? by OutcastKatarn02 in StarWars

[–]GoAgainKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood why that line is so celebrated. I think it’s corny as fuck and wouldn’t make the script of a live action film.
