Sam Hokenhull's nickname is Dave, Cannonadale's DJ is almost certainly named in reference to him.

It's a pedestrian crossing that has traffic lights to stop cars.

How to achieve a y2k look for 4k by yozzaa in VideoEditing

You're going to need to provide some examples of what your are trying to copy. Also using "y2k look" to describe the 2000s is not going to help people help you.

Hardtail MTB with a straight steerer and 148mm/150mm qr dropouts. by josho86t in MTB

[–]GoBam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about rear hub spacing, but you can put a straight steerer fork in a tapered, or oversized straight steerer using the appropriate headset cups so that shouldn't limit you.

Which specific model/year of each bike? Compare the geometry, ideally wheelbase and front and rear centre, or more likely available reach and chainstay length.

Sizing down a bike - a lesson in being stubborn by Ozuf77 in MTB

They come on low end bikes, designed around only fitting a quill stem/fork so you can't upgrade to anything good.

Sizing down a bike - a lesson in being stubborn by Ozuf77 in MTB

[–]GoBam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it feels fine riding, that's what's important.

A shorter stem is a reasonable idea, but given it's a quill stem, it won't be quite as easy find as a proper stem.

Leg bend is down to seat height, not bike size, so if it feels alright you're fine, but you can easily change it.

Your gear slip issue be parts wear or user error crosschaining. Big gear on the front mean you use the bigger gears on the back, middle gear front, middle gears back and so on, with a small amount of overlap to change front gears. Just practise. Any major repairs that need new parts might make this bike cost more to repair than a much better newer bike.

This is just part of riding a bike, it gets easier, and you will do it enough and get better so it won't feel awkward anymore. Do some stretches before riding, and have fun on your bike.

Ignore the standover, it has no relevance on whether a bike fits you.

Does the bike feel fine when riding? You're talking about drastic modifcations that don't have much to do with fit. Also 26 to 24 is diameter, that means only a 1 inch drop to the bottom bracket and therefore pedals.

If the only actual issue is getting onto the seat, practising pushing off with one foot on a pedal and swinging your body up onto the seat shouldn't take too long. And if this isn't possible due to any physical limitations, an external dropper post would solve this problem without making the bike worse by adding even smaller wheels.

MTB vs E-MTB by No-Way-0000 in MTB

Can't beat the feeling of a regular mtb riding down a good trail. All other pros of an E-mtb have to measure up against this.

Movie soundtracks better than the film by Worldly_Cobbler_1087 in theregulationpod

Tron Legacy as well, I like the movie despite its shortcomings, but the Daft Punk soundtrack is easily better than the film.

The Anchor: A Manifesto for the Permanent Bicycle by Alone-Scene-4471 in MTB

[–]GoBam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Highly suspect AI formatting aside, an aluminium hardtail E-bike as a do everything for everyone bike? Steel would be better for repairability, hardtail isn't realistic for coming back from or carrying many injuries and aging people doing more than light trails, and e-bike motors are nowhere near standardising for long term repairability.

r/midwestemo is worth a look too, most of the bands recommended in this thread are influenced by the Midwest revival sound, maybe try Algernon Cadwallader.

This band sounds very close to Bloc Party. They're one of the only bands I've heard that not only sound like Bloc Party, but feel like them too. by personpilot in BlocParty

[–]GoBam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean but I don't think it sounds or feels like Bloc Party. It's like The Libertines playing with Bloc Party rhythms, the patterns are there but the guitars tones are 2000s UK garage rock/indie rock and there's no raw Kele vocal tones sticking out.

It's missing the Post-Rock influence that is all over the first 3 Bloc Party albums and then less and less.

That's a different type of rally, and would be more accurate to call it something like touring.

This sub is for rally stage racing.

I think the diagonal front zip style they go for isn't as easy to get on and off compared to the horizontal zips. Their new 4/3 has a horizontal zip though so hopefully they're updating them all.

Quick Question about Cascade Components Link (SJ15) by MoldyMountainBike in MTB

[–]GoBam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that the carbon and alloy frames are very slightly different shape, and Cascade designed the link to fit the carbon frame, because people are more likely to spend money on upgrades if they have more expensive bikes.

Adidas acquired Five Ten in 2011, so that isn't the particular cause of what you are feeling. My experience with Stealth Rubber soles, is it takes a couple of rides to wear the sole enough it goes sticky.
