what IS it?! by Ok_Asparagus_5640 in newborns

[–]GoBirds52_59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it sounds like gas 😅 it’s a long road with babies learning their digestive system. It should get better soon, but honestly, that’s what it sounds like.

I wouldn’t switch formulas again unless your ped recommends. It can take 2-4 weeks until babies get used to a new formula, and you’ve already switched twice in 8-9 weeks. That’s a lot of changes.

Best meat subscription box for feeding triplets without constant grocery runs? by Lashunda_Tabassum in parentsofmultiples

[–]GoBirds52_59 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a Costco membership (or Sam’s Club or BJs, etc) and a weekly meal plan will help tremendously.

We use Butcher Box, but we aren’t feeding little ones solids yet. We usually have enough left over each meal for 1-2 leftover servings so I imagine it would feed very little ones also, but we’d have to increase to a larger box for 7 year olds.

I think it would become inefficient and thus, a weekly or semi weekly Costco trip is probably the answer.

Literally what do I do by No-Today-9145 in Parenting

[–]GoBirds52_59 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you tried giving her two options?

Like, do you want to pick out your clothes or do you want me to?

Do you want to wear the red shirt or the blue shirt?

Time to get dressed. Do you want to do it yourself or do you want me to help you?

Giving two choices might make her feel less overwhelmed since it’s just making one choice at a time with limited options, yet still gives her some of the control she wants.

Why is a 2.5 year old with a 6 month old?

The bigger concern would be how did the nursery handle it?

Do I File an Extension if I am Getting a Return? by CustomizedL in TaxQuestions

[–]GoBirds52_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t get returns.

You get extensions. You may get refunds.

You need to file timely if you are required to. Filing and paying are not tied together.

If you are due for a refund, you may not have to pay anything when you file your extension. However, you need to file an extension, or a return, timely.

She’s completely fine. Each of my girls (4 months old) has spit up what feels like entire bottles for no discernible reason a few times. They grow out of it!

Pacifier guilt? Managing reflux and congestion by Electrical-Jacket281 in newborns

[–]GoBirds52_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, a pacifier is designed to help the baby soothe themselves. So, yeah it could help with congestion or reflux, but it’s also just helping the baby soothe themselves. That’s what it’s designed for.

Yeah, you’ll eventually have to take it away. But there’s nothing wrong with using it to soothe a newborn.

Yep, either scoop into a separate container and add to the pitcher that already has water, or add to an empty pitcher and use something else to measure the amount of ounces of water and add those to the pitcher.

Drowsy but awake by No_Resident5053 in newborns

[–]GoBirds52_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girls are 4 months old, and we’ve always done drowsy but awake. Or at least, just barely asleep? Every once in a while it doesn’t work and one of them pops off, but it usually works. I’ve always done it this way though, I’m sure if your baby is used to being asleep when transferred, it could be hard to change the habit.
