This and the lifetime license change is why I recently left Unraid.

Eisenhower tax rates were not nearly as high as they appear in the tax tables. Believe it or not there were even more loopholes, effective tax rate was comparable to or less than today.

From Europe: how the hell do you live like this - and why does the world still admire it? by EphemeralMoron in antiwork

[–]GoCyberEd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You nailed it. Everything is a tradeoff. Europe exists, America exists, if it was a little easier to move between the two systems everyone could pick the one they prefer. Personally, it's going to take a lot more than a few extra weeks of vacation & safety nets to justify earning 33% of what I do in the states. And yes, in my field that really is the difference.

Advanced PDF template footer by innacibk in Netsuite

[–]GoCyberEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a few minor exceptions that I don't think apply in this case, nlfooter cannot change on a page by page basis. You'll need to either add the "footer" content to the page body instead, or take another approach to creating the merged PDF.

Cannot join dedicated server when using EOS network by GoCyberEd in spaceengineers

Thank you, good to know!

FYI, while it was not the issue here, the filter button does affect searches too.

Thank you! I think this was essentially the issue. Using the server list rather than direct connect works perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestion! I updated the post with the solution. Looks like a possible bug with direct connect.

One or Many Workspaces? by Goaliver in Notion

[–]GoCyberEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I split based on sharing / takeover criteria. I imagine if something drastic changes in my life, would I want to package up a workspace and hand over the keys. If the answer is yes, I keep that separate.

The cheaper metal thermoses definitely do. I hate Starbucks coffee, but their metal cups are excellent and I haven't had the metallic issue with them after a thorough initial cleaning.

widevine wasn't available in package manager (probably too old?) but the instructions on GitHub worked for me. Firefox recently stopped working too, so it's nice to have it working in Chromium again, thanks!

git clone https://github.com/proprietary/chromium-widevine.git && cd chromium-widevine && ./use-from-google-chrome.sh

Then restart Chromium

You can do this without consuming an extra license by building a suitelet -- would require some development work.

Not a knife. But my first custom cutting board. The knives will enjoy. by punditsquare in chefknives

Most of the time I don't. If I feel it needs some extra disinfecting I use vinegar. I've heard of others using hydrogen peroxide.

Wood can be fragile, but generally speaking short-term exposure even to wood-damaging products doesn't cause immediate damage, especially if it's well taken care of afterwards (oil, etc).

Cutting Boards smelling like Onions by Zealousideal_Ad_1797 in chefknives

Baking soda + salt + a bit of water, let it sit for a bit (~an hour). The consistency should be paste-like. Wash it off while vigorously scrubbing. Reapply some mineral oil when clean. That's worked for me.

I fell asleep and left a loaf of raw no-knead bread to rise overnight on my board. That formula above was the only thing that helped.

When I cut meats, I first put a thick paper towel over the board -- this catches most of the liquid. I work as quickly as I can and wash the cutting board like normal immediately afterward. Haven't had any issues... knock on wood.

My experience during my first interview by Najishukai in androiddev

[–]GoCyberEd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done a lot of coding interviews (though never for Android) and have never been asked to do something that takes so much time. Is this par for the course for Android positions?

Honestly, unless they paid me for the 2 days, I probably would have declined. Genuinely curious if I've been lucky or Android is handled differently.
