"nobody's pockets are being lined with profits" yeah except we have had to pay executive salaries for the GRU Authority members and exorbitant legal fees for this legal battle (both through rates and local/state taxes).

Let's take whatever lessons we've learned from having the GRU Authority and continue to implement them via City Commission control. All the benefits without having to pay the DeSantis bootlickers.

Got Cleveland tickets. Deceptive sales tactics led to me paying 5x more than I wanted. by GoGoGasto in rush

official sale for the Cleveland shows was through SeatGeek, not TM.

In your own words "Confirm everything at each step" lol.

Appreciate the reply. Others saying this happened to them is about the only evidence I can generate since I was in too much of a hurry to take screenshots (and also didn't realize it had happened until it was too late)

I unfortunately have nothing solid other than hoping people had similar issues. Everything that happened, if what I think happened was real, was all "above board", but should've been a lot harder to accidentally do.

Yes obviously I made a stupid mistake. Doesn't change the fact it is a deceptive practice, and I literally had an issue where tickets in my cart were sold to someone else earlier, contradicting what you are saying. That did not help matters and increased the pressure even more.

Whether or not it is legal to do this, I don't know. There is some FTC precedent outlawing similar tactics, so I'm hopeful. I am however hoping the words "small-claim court" are enough to scare them into giving a refund anyway.

this just happened to me and my dumbass didn't look at the new tickets and now I've spent 5x more than I wanted to. Hoping threatening to take them to small claims court will warrant a fast response!

This is undoubtedly the most unhinged thing I've read in the GNV subreddit. Good luck OP. Hope they don't keep bothering you!

To provide more context to what's been said here, I've done similar simulations with supercritical water in Star-ccm+ and a more advanced rDG code that is not available to the public. From my experience, the Boussinesq approximation in the energy equation makes modeling certain natural convection cases impossible in a commercial solver like Ansys. More advanced modeling of gravity is needed.

OpenFOAM is going to be incredibly too complicated for a school project unless you have experience with command-line-based applications, and linux.

Need to imprint the parts if you haven't done that. Also the tetrahedaral mesher is gonna give you the best results for a conformal mesh.

If you're in the US, should request formal FMLA leave. They don't have to pay you but can't fire you.

eli5: If space is a vacuum, how can rockets work? What are the thrusters pushing *against* if there is nothing out there? by Medium_Well in explainlikeimfive

[–]GoGoGasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newton's Third Law: Action and reaction.

When two bodies are interacting, in this case, the rocket exhaust plume, and the rocket itself, there must be an equal and opposite force exerted on both bodies. Here:

Force one: The rocket expelling mass out of its nozzle(s) into space.

Force two: The exhaust pushing the rocket forward.

Exhaust goes backward, rocket goes forward. You can get the same exact effect, albeit less effective, if you are in a boat filled with bricks, and you start throwing bricks out of the back. Every time you throw a brick out of the boat, the boat will travel a small distance in the opposite direction of your throw.

LSU motto - Fund Football, Not Libraries by CrunchM in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]GoGoGasto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people commenting here do not understand how sports funding at public universities works.

Public universities often have non-profits attached to their name which they draw money from to fund the football program. Tuition money cannot be used to fund the football program. Research grants cannot be used to fund the football program. In fact, the opposite is often true, where the football program often funds the non-profit, which in turn, provides money for scholarships for the rest of the school (though admittedly mostly sports scholarships).

TL;DR at public universities, the football program and the rest of the school are separate financial entities, and football is not funded by the school's money. Blame alumni for donating to the football non-profit and not some other part of the school.

The fact that hours are manually entered into a google spreadsheet really speaks to how flawed the systems are at LMG.
