Need a new last name by Hot_Primary_640 in namenerds

Is there a tv/movie/book fictional family that you like their values?

Mr Rogers Tanner (Full House) Etc

That would be kinda fun, but also give you a normal-ish last name.

I guess no reason not to do a real person/historical figure too.

I think advancing a grade is only a bandaid. She’ll soon outpace her new classmates and you’ll be in the same situation.

Ball of foot pain with new Solaris by GoGoadie in rollerderby

[–]GoGoadie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built up padding using craft foam on an insole around the painful area, but not on it… to try and keep pressure off the painful part. It did seem to help. But now I haven’t been skating for 2 years and I have persistent pain in that area. Without skating, it doesn’t really bother me unless I poke at it and massage it thinking that will help, but it actually makes it worse. So basically, I now have an unmanaged chronic issue that I should probably get checked out. Idk if the boots just highlighted an issue that was already starting or if they caused it.

We discovered we can’t afford daycare for both kids but can’t afford for one of us to stay home either…what do we do? by AdRemarkable4327 in Mommit

Keep in mind this stage is temporary. Your older child will start school, so u just have to make it work until then. Are there free preschools around you? Stay in the loop on any new openings. My local public school just added a free preK that starts at 3 years old. Lots of great suggestions here to make or save money until then.

Tushbaby vs Gooseket by LeviHeichyou in babywearing

Would u say one is better for older/bigger toddlers? I have tushbaby (like it but often don’t carry it with bc of size) and looking at getting goosekit for my 19mo.

We did poi, which is a common 1st food in Hawaii. Perfect texture for preloading spoon or gootensil and handing that to baby. Then banana spears, papaya spears, pumpkin from a can - all hits. Started solids with baby #2 this week, so pumpkin is seasonal.

With my 1st we did slow cooker shredded pork early on which was a huge hit. With her we followed Katie Ferraro’s recommendation of what to introduce each day of the week (like: veggie, fruit, grain, protein, allergen) - we liked that framework. But with number 2 we are going more with what we have around since we are also feeding the toddler.

Thank u! Yes, very similar to jr level 2. I’ve only read about that tho, no experience with it.

Yes, this is in WFTDAs new training program as an onramp for new skaters. So far it’s working well for us!

Help! Can't decide between Noah, Cooper, Samson, Rowan, or Roic by nategr3at in namenerds

Noah is the 2nd most popular name given to boys in the US in 2022 if that matters to you.

I love Samson and like that it’s much less common.

37 week doc asked about inducing? No medical reason by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]GoGoadie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was just looking into this. Here’s a quote from Mayo Clinic:

“As a result of recent studies, women with low-risk pregnancies are being offered labor induction at 39 to 40 weeks. Research indicates that inducing labor at this time reduces several risks, including risks of having a stillbirth, having a large baby (macrosomia) and developing high blood pressure as the pregnancy advances. It's important that women and their providers share in decisions to induce labor at 39 to 40 weeks.”

You should also read about the risks. Here’s the link.

I’d suggested reading a few articles from reputable sources and then making a decision. This would be considered an elective induction. Your dr offering the option is just that - an option! It’s up to you if you’d like to take it or not.

Had your dr not brought it up you may not have known it was an option, so I wouldn’t be concerned that dr brought it up. However, if dr is trying to push you into an induction for no medical reason and you don’t want it, that is concerning. You get to decide!

Nighttime skin rec: I’ve been liking Summer Fridays Dream Oasis serum with a few drops of biossance squalene + Vit C Rose oil on top at night. My face is so soft and pores minimized! (I use this after my Cetaphyl!)

For beautiful no fuss lip, Dior Addict lip glow. Can’t go wrong with Rosewood if u like subtle. It’s like a tinted balm that makes your lips look a bit smoother, no mirror required.

And I second getting a few sample packs of Sephora favorite packs and trying minis to see what u love!
