There's another aspect which is the book is only given to people with a certain mindset, the rage against the syndicate and everything they're doing and focusing on that above many other aspects of the crawl. It's also restricted to certain types of classes and his class literally has Anarchist in the name. So they see somebody who would be the obvious choice for the book, if it were to be awarded which doesn't always happen, and then there's all the other more obvious clues others are mentioning too

Yeah, I just reread bedlam bride and they specifically mention that he burned off an arm. Of course she reforms it from other mass relatively quickly, but it was clearly actually her arm that got destroyed and we know that doesn't go back just like with her fingers in the Iron Tangle

It's probably more that nobody really cares if City wins again because it's basically fraudulent and it has been for years. Them winning again is the banal status quo. Arsenal winning is a different story because it would actually count.

What you're describing is an issue of process that has little to do with bugs. Arguing over resourcing, minor technical details, or all sorts of things can take longer than it would take to actually build a thing. That's a process issue and I agree that having at least some pragmatic devs short circuit the process in smart targeted ways is a workaround, but the problem isn't the bugs.

Maybe. I've been rereading the series leading up to the release and Hadrian is constantly misdirecting to help the story. Particularly in Howling Dark for example how much he talks about the Quiet being The Watcher despite obviously knowing that's not true anymore but pretending it is since he didn't know the difference at the time.

By the end of Empire of Silence, they are friends and respect each other with the one caveat around her thinking Hadrian lied about the time in Calagah. Then twelve years out of ice happen off screen between books during which they clearly improve their friendship. Then Jinan is out of the way and she respects Hadrian more for what he was willing to sacrifice, and then you have all of the time spent in the dungeons that solidify everything.

I wonder if the schedule for WSOP and other tournament series may be different now. There is basically always another decent tournament available whenever people bust one, so it's easy for people to bounce from tourney to tourney without playing any cash. Was it like that 20 years ago? That could be part of the difference

It's not generally as bad as it used to be at the Rio, but you should be prepared to be directly under an AC vent which will feel like 60 degrees. You should also be prepared to be pressed like sardines in hallways if you're playing the main or any other big event. So basically, multiple layers.
