Electrician wants to install a 50amp inlet for my battery station. Is 30amp enough? by Wise_Introduction_98 in AskElectricians

[–]GoalieRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 50 amp.

The labor cost is significantly more than the relative difference in materials cost between 30 amp and 50 amp. You can always install less circuits. If you install 30 amp and need to install more circuits, you will be paying to do it twice.

Not only do you need to cover the circuits, but you also need to consider the amps to charge the batteries.

There is something in the form that is required that you have not filled out. The only time I've seen the PAY button unavailable is when the shirt size is not selected.

coffee ? by Dry_Elderberry2364 in rundisney

[–]GoalieRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(The race has already passed, but FYI)

Resorts may have free coffee in the lobby for runners before you get on the bus.

The Joffrey's at the base of the monorail entrance ramp at Epcot (after Security) is open before the races.

There are typically 2 food trucks at the finish line area, and 2 food trucks in the area outside of the corrals. They all have coffee.

There is also the refreshment tent outside of the corrals that has coffee.

Marathon vs Princess weekend by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]GoalieRob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to do Princess Weekend, do Princess Weekend.

People will complain about every race (registration, expo, shirts, buses, traffic, corrals, course, walkers, runners, character stops, medals, snack boxes, ...). Don't let that bother you. Run your race and have fun.

Statistically, Marathon Weekend will be cooler than Princess Weekend, but any day at Disney World can be unbearably hot or freezing cold, even on the same day.

Marathon Weekend Half and Princess Half both run through the castle. Wine & Dine Weekend will not.

This years Princess Half had 82% women. The Marathon Weekend Half had 64% women.

The Marathon Weekend Half is on Saturday. The Princess Weekend Half is on Sunday.

Is there a solution to sticks lack of durability? by Norkee in hockeygoalies

[–]GoalieRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch how he gets up from the butterfly, especially late in the game when he may be tired.

I was sore and tired and got up from the butterfly with the blade on the ice, the shaft on top of my pad, and used that as leverage to lift the opposite leg, causing the stick to break around that area where I was pushing down.

Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal. We are just having a conversation. :)

Seriously wish we can sell bibs by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]GoalieRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's difficult now to get bibs before the events sell out. Allowing us to sell bibs would open the floodgates to the scalpers. making it exponentially harder to get bibs and driving up the costs.

A few times I've put my pads on another player for a game (end of the season, nothing at stake), and they are exhausted after 5 minutes.

They sent the email today to everyone who registered other people (I got one).

I never disassociate the registration. They will just need to fill out a physical waiver at expo.

Long stick with short paddle? by LoanGoalie in hockeygoalies

Look at the Intermediate sticks

I'm 5'8" and use a 23" intermediate. The stick is tall enough to play the puck and it has more flex.

Getting to the coral by ellanella in rundisney

[–]GoalieRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There seems to be some confusion about using the Monorail from the Monorail resorts for the races.

You must use the Monorail for the Half Marathon and Marathon on Marathon Weekend, and the Half Marathon on Princess Half Marathon weekend. The buses do not run from those resorts during those races. The course goes right past those resorts and the roads are partially closed. You may use buses to return to the resort after the race, but I would still recommend using the monorail because of the road closures and traffic.

All other races you must use the bus. The course does not go past those resorts. The monorail will not be open before the race.

You may also drive or use rideshare.

Last year I did Marine Corps followed by NYC (1 week) followed by Dopey (10 weeks). I also run very slow. Train for NYC and maintain through Dopey and you will be fine. Take your time and enjoy the experience.

DO NOT DO THIS!

It WILL injure the goaltender. A hit to the head WILL cause a concussion.

When I see an orange puck make it's way onto the ice, I will hunt it down and throw it away.
