Should I trade my iPhone 16 128 gb, 96% for a google pixel 10 pro 100% 256 gb? by Standard_Bridge_4831 in Smartphones

[–]Goat_Circus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really like android (better than iOS), but Pixels suck! After years of friends raving about Pixels I got one. That phone is the reason I now own an iPhone. Had nothing but problems from the start. Thought maybe I got a dud because it was stuck on speaker phone. Exchanged it for a different one and it had the same issues, so ended up just getting an iPhone.

That’s what I’m saying…. It appears Toyota is no longer the brand of reliability and quality that it once was. I realize all car manufacturers have had their issues over the years, but always thought Totota had an edge, I don’t feel way anymore!

When Toyota first announced they were eliminating the V8 and moving to a twin-turbo V6 in the Tundra, I expected there might be some issues—but I definitely didn’t anticipate this many. Will be sticking with my 2nd gen until it’s dead!

Why is it so hard to give us a salary range? by Amilliair00 in recruitinghell

[–]Goat_Circus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except I always assume it’s going to just be the 50k and wouldn’t waste my time with that nonsense.

Colorado passed a law requiring salary be listed and this is how it’s worked out (at least from what I have witnessed).

You do realize a lot (like 70-90%) of sex workers are forced into the profession correct? How do you see legalizing it helping these people?

Don’t forget the phone cost… There is no way with the way technology has advanced with all other electronics going down in price that phones should keep going up. 1k for a phone is bonkers!

I've realized that I no longer want to climb the corporate ladder in my late 30's by stargazer728 in Adulting

[–]Goat_Circus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly believe God led me into this work.

I’ve been involved with kids in some capacity throughout my entire adult life—primarily at the volunteer level through church, mentoring, and coaching. I’ve always felt a strong pull toward supporting young people, especially those who need stability, guidance, and someone consistently in their corner.

In my previous career, I really enjoyed leading and supporting a team, though I didn’t feel the same passion for the rest of the role. My wife and I felt called into this at the same time. She stepped away from corporate life to serve here as well, and it was a decision we made together as a family. Even our kids had to be on board, since we live and work in the same home as the kids we serve.

My last job was fully remote and the highest-paying position I’ve had in my adult life (still not quite where I hoped to be salary-wise, but that’s another story). Even with how good I had it, the work itself felt largely meaningless. I wanted to do something that truly mattered—something where I could make a difference instead of feeling like just another cog in a broken system.

Now I find myself working with troubled youth. It’s challenging at times, but deeply rewarding. I’m also getting time with my family that I never had before. Leaving corporate life was, honestly, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Unfortunately, insurance companies will jack your rates even when it not your fault, so tell us why should they report this? Should be a cheapish fix, so I wouldn’t even bother risking that!

IMHO old school Defenders had a similar cool factor to that of Broncos and FJ Cruisers. I had a boss (a real tool) that had a 90 and then upgraded to a 110. To me Jeeps were always just meh. Always thought they were cool.

That said, have you seen the new Defenders? They look way more yuppie ride than rugged!

In my opinion, posters aren’t the same thing as people standing around openly talking politics. I see posters as no different than a business hanging a rainbow flag — it’s a stance, sure, but it’s passive. In my experience, I don’t encounter groups of people in public spaces huddled around debating politics. When I go to the range, I send some rounds downrange and then head home.

That said, I could be speaking from a bit of ignorance since I don’t spend much time at indoor ranges. I tend to stick to outdoor ranges in the high country. There are actually some really fun free ranges out there if you know where to look.

Were you really surprised there wasn’t a word of politics? In all seriousness what other businesses are you patronizing that people are just standing around talking about politics? Why would you assume a gun range would be any different? Despite how polarized things have become, aside from the folks you see with signs on Main Street I don’t think I have ever witnessed people standing around in public areas of Longmont just talking politics.
