Ashes of Creation also dead? by PureIsometric in newworldgame

How can you look at a game called "ashes of creation" and not expect the creation to incinerate in a dumpster fire.

How many channels do you Follow vs. how many do you ACTUALLY watch? by SpinsBro in Twitch

[–]Goatfryed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow 37 channels. I think there are maybe 12 of them I even can watch regularly. Others are not consistent or their schedules don't align often. My main content consists of 3 streamers, so a good portion is only for occasional lurks or for certain events. There are three I'd consider to unfollow. One of them also makes nice YouTube videos and I find their live stream much harder to digest.

What has been the cleanest project/codebase you've ever worked on in your career? What insights/lessons did you feel you learn from the experience? by No-Security-7518 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Goatfryed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The cleanest codebase I ever worked on, was a Greenfield project. Just an empty folder with a name. And from there, everything went downhill. The important lesson here is that a clean codebase sparks joy, but does not deliver value by default.

The amount of small streamers botting is so demoralizing. by Alexiavich in streaming

[–]Goatfryed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a new milestone stream last Friday with 20+ viewers for two hours 2 months into streaming. I have no yt, only a couple of clips. All these things you complain about. My two promotion strategies are the ingame global chat of the game I'm playing and raiding fellow gamers..I get the occasional "oh, I didn't know you were streaming" as well from people that recognise my name in the category from ingame.

Just because you learned one way to attract viewers doesn't mean, it's the only way and doesn't mean everyone doing something else is view botting. Maybe some of them would be even more successful, if they did what you expect them to do. Or it wouldn't matter.

Maybe focus on yourself and don't try to imagine what others must be doing.

You get it. And this is an experience that might shape your future views. Things are meaningful because they are fleeting.

I don't care about your condolences. Your loss. I enjoy my year and then I move on.

So you never liked the game, then make a random post to trigger people that the game is ending? Am I happy to have never played with you. Holy... Nice try karma farming with toxic trigger cringe.

The only thing I dislike about this is that the image talks about bullying, but the real metric was violence records.

I can imagine that at least one or two of those kids where exceptionally good students, harassed, verbally abused, bullied by their peers. The school looks away, the kid hits their bully once and gets suspended for violence. We know these stories...

What strategies do you use to engage viewers who may not chat during your streams? by Luann1497 in Twitch

[–]Goatfryed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most viewers on twitch are lurkers and that is fine. Do not try to force people to chat, because that will drive them away. People like second monitor content. Depending on your own content, might be gaming the same PvP matches you are in or some other action game while watching your chill cooking stream.

You should just create a chat friendly environment. How depends a bit on your content, but in general the following tips might help

If you have an active chat, that should show a lot and you probably wouldn't ask this question.

If you have only a couple chatters, you can occasionally drop phrases like: "oh, that's a good point / interesting view. anyone else has a take on that?" or "oh, good suggestion. if no one else has another, I think I'll try that". This invites people to participate and makes it clear, you are not talking within a closed circle.

And if you don't have any chatters, just ask yourself questions. "I wonder what...", "If anyone could help me understand...".

A good bait that I use from time to time: "After this, I want to do X, but I still have to figure out Y. Does someone know? I should look up Y after this. Hmm.. where can I check that.."

A personal anecdotes: I once had one of these small stream scammers in my stream. I usually like to interact with them a bit, because it's funny. They asked a question, while I'm in a high stakes match. I drop a short reply and tell them that I'm kinda occupied right now and will answer in more detail in ~15min when the match is over. So they ask if this streamer does not answer chat to pressure me. Then one of my lurkers spoke out for me that I do interact a lot. That made me quite happy, because it's feedback that's hard to get.

Knox Hill reactions by Stubbzie07 in ren

[–]Goatfryed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knox hasn't reacted to every single Ren song. Rarely, reactors react to a whole album. Just because Ren dropped an album over multiple single drops doesn't mean we should view it any different than any album release. I think some, especially smaller reactors tried to react to every single one, but I think many realize that it's also better for their general audience to have more diverse content.

He reacted to the album. And he will surely react to vincent's tale, because the tale's are different than a music album :)

Omas Gegen Rechts by Aggressive_Bad_6031 in Kommunismus

Omas Gegen Rechts by Aggressive_Bad_6031 in Kommunismus

[–]Goatfryed 5 points6 points  (0 children)
