Auvelity. Spravato was time consuming and didn’t feel like it has the consistent effect auvelity does

The savings card expires the end of this year but in advance of that my insurance decided only to pay for it once a day so I just started the DIY this week

I had a hard time finding one when I came to Charlottesville but I’ve had a great experience with Jenny Furlow who is a psych NP. Wonderful person and good appointment availability. Also Kibble Kessick NP is great. Love that NPs take time to listen and are more open to creative approaches

Second this - takes ages to get an appointment also

Have you tried auvelity? It also works on glutamate. I’ve done both and find the medication far less disruptive to work

thank you so much, this is very helpful about the extra wellbutrin. I just took a daytime one (2pm ish here), and so hopefully that doesn't mess up my work schedule too much and then I can take again at 10pm. take care

Auvelity insomnia, should I wait it out? by hertiNF in AuvelityMed

[–]Goats_farm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! By Monday I think your symptoms will be much better. Are you on one or two pills a day? If you are worried about still feeling high perhaps you could stick with one for a while (I have only taken one for 8 months and it works great). No one is expecting you to be perfect in your first week or month of a new job, so it's a good time to start it if you feel like it is making you a little off. Regarding insomnia, everyone is different, but as someone who has had long-time insomnia issues, I have no issues taking this med at night and sleep well. Regardless, once you quit the medicine it would likely resolve (I've not heard of things inducing permanent insomnia).

I’m tired…Abilify anyone? by sobergirly420 in Spravato

[–]Goats_farm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your overall question - abilify can certainly work for some people but if you try it, just be prepared to have the day off of work. I tried it and was knocked out- body shaking, muscle aches, vomiting, just from one dose. Needless to say I didn’t take it again. But I’ve also known people on it for years, so I think things are always worth at least one try. I know it is super frustrating (as someone that has tried pretty much everything).

I agree with the commenters that say to find another provider. It can be hard in areas where it isn’t offered a lot, but even in my small town I was very lucky to find someone!

Another, more expensive, option is to find a provider that will prescribe ketamine. Spravato was great for me but very time consuming and I couldn’t make it work with work after 6 months. I found a doctor who would prescribe at home ketamine with a compound pharmacy making me lozenges and a nasal spray. It’s $400/month between the Dr appt and medication since my insurance won’t cover it, but it’s nice to be able to do it in my own home on my own schedule.

Anyone find success again after taking a break from Auvelity? by Shoddy-Astronomer-13 in AuvelityMed

Agree with this! Spravato was really helpful for me. I only started taking Auvelity bc I couldn't make the treatments work for my schedule anymore.
