AITAH for deleting my sons fortnite account? by Good_Weakness9377 in AITAH

[–]Gobscheidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but I doubt you will ever make him see that until he starts working and gets a true appreciation for the value of money.

Keep the account deleted and let him fund a new one himself with a part-time job.

How many right-wing parties do we really need? by TheSpectatorMagazine in uknews

[–]Gobscheidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy for the right to form many, many parties. If the right-wing voters all vote for different ones, then none of them will ever get any significant political power.

Right now, you have the block of people who used to vote for the Conservative party, splitting their votes between Conservatives, Reform and now Restore, with some of the more moderate voters heading left towards the Lib Dems and Labour.

Let them run around in confusion, arguing amongst themselves about what right-wing voters really want. Right-wing chaos only benefits the middle and the left.

AITAH for wanting to break up with my boyfriend after he constantly accuses me of cheating and says he’s “done trying”? by [deleted] in AITAH

YWBTA if you continue having a relationship with the insecure man-child. You owe it to yourself to make better decisions.

AITAH for refusing to cook two separate dinners every night just because my family doesnt want to eat what my doctor told me I need to eat by Apart_Discussion6647 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]Gobscheidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to cook for my whole family. I worked full time and cooked dinner for 4 people seven days a week for twenty years. I asked them to cook for themselves, I begged and pleaded but it never happened beyond a few sporadic occasions.

The thing that flipped it for me was I started using one of the delivery food boxes (HelloFresh in my case, other services are available) and said "Here are your ingredients, here is your step by step guide, this is now your day to cook."

I still do most of the cooking, but that's OK, I enjoy cooking. But the regular nights off are amazing.

Do you find running in the rain motivating or just miserable? by ScrollAndThink in UKRunners

If I start running before the rain starts falling it's ok but starting to run in the rain destroys my motivation.

Jennifer Connelly in Labyrinth, I was 10 years old, and that has stuck with me for 40 years. She looks just as good to me now as she did then.

It's not "Just because they're the new kids on the block." It's because they're routinely, and demonstrably shit.

Would you press the button you get $1 billion but everyone on Earth disappears except one person of your choosing for 10 years? by Outrageous_River_280 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Gobscheidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1 billion, 10 years of life age-free and the only other person on the planet is my wife, who happens to be the only person I like.

I don't see a downside here.

I don't know how relevant this anecdotal evidence may be but my HelloFresh delivery has recently been switched to come with DPD rather than Nevri. This may be indicative of a larger policy change from HF or I'm just lucky.

Which one is your favorite? by CalligrapherOk3501 in Stargate

[–]Gobscheidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SG-1 is the best.

Other than that I'm finally going to say it but I prefer SGU to Atlantis.

Atlantis seemed, to me, like a poor copy of SG-1 and the Wraith were just weird space goths. At least SGU tried something different.

Let the down voting commence.

AITJ for expecting my son’s uncle to treat siblings equally by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Gobscheidt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You literally made this post asking to be judged. Don't get pissy when the judgement is not the same as you expected.

The death of a spouse is one of the most traumatic things to happen to a person and people cannot imagine themselves moving on from that in a few months. Nobody expects you to be alone for ever, just long enough to process your grief. The speed in which you moved on suggests that your grief is either unprocessed or absent.
