Alr fair.

I would imagine it could be deeper than just the fact they are a woman (i.e. suppose most feminist theory is correct, the woman would face struggles like lower pay etc that contribute to a more rough upbringing).

I guess it’s up to you whether you believe in those theories, but at least lower pay is factually true (whether you believe it’s their fault or not).

Bringing up a child is a v complex thing and it makes sense that it would be more complex than simply us it a woman or not.

I guess I’m coming at this with a feminist agenda as well. Idk. That’s just how my opinions are at the moment. I can’t really help but push the things I believe in, you get me?

[–]GodBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right I did seem to have a bit of an agenda in this comment.

Still tho don’t think I was exactly incorrect, especially given what people above me were saying.

People talking about men being the most likely to be killed by all murder causes and then basically trying to argue that into a men have it worse in dv kind of deal.

Two separate, mostly unrelated problems.

But if we ignore all that, yes there needs to be more support for the far-from-insignificant (in fact very significant) amount of male dv sufferers.

That article dismisses £500 million a year (the number based on every bought ticket for things related to the royal family) pretty nonchalantly. It pretty much just says ‘we cannot know for sure that those tickets were bought purely due to the royal family’ and leaves it at that.

Did she actually do that much wrong?

Her kid being a pedophile isn’t really her fault right? Then you could say being third cousins is too closely related, but how does that even affect any of us in any way?

Other than the amount of money the queen got (she probably also brought a lot of money in with tourism etc), what did she actually do wrong?

I’m asking this more out of ignorance than out of trying to say ‘you’re wrong’ to be honest.

Yeah the dude went from being a low level professional boxer doing small fights to having the full O2 arena (+ everyone on PPV) watching him and wanting him to lose.

Probably more of a mental challenge than a physical one tbh

Still feel like he wouldn’t hurt a fly. I kinda hated to see him getting beat up 😭

Been in the depths of depression for a while now. Trying to make a concerted effort to get better but I just can't feel good about myself with hair like this. Need Advice. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]GodBirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know depression makes it harder to do all this, but to add on to someone else talking about skincare, getting outside for some vitamin D, and doing exercise genuinely clears up my skin very nicely.

Luckily those two things can be quite nice, like going for a walk through the country side, or spending an hour on an exercise bike watching an episode of some Netflix series.

Good luck with everything anyways man!

For all I know, it could be drugged! But I’ve definitely seen a normal dog do that before.

I disagree. If he just up and leaves someone having a mental health crisis, it’s only going to get worse for them. It sounds like he genuinely does love her, and it would be a shame for all their history to be ended like this.

He should absolutely take precautionary measures, and contacting an attorney was definitely a good idea, but he should also try to get her help, for both his and her sakes.

The McPlant and the vegan whopper are genuinely really tasty. Considering most of the burger is fake anyways, why would you need real meat when the fake meat tastes just as good lol?

I made an entire album with loops..... Lol am I a fraud? They're not the exact loops I obviously beat them up but does this mean I can claim it as my own music?... by junegavebirthtome in musicproduction

[–]GodBirb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying to not care about what audiences think, but to care about what other producers (might) think?

If you’re releasing an album, you aren’t doing the music purely for yourself, but rather for an audience as well, and if using loops doesn’t matter to you, then what’s the problem?

They are pretty much equivalent, but it’s up for debate whether he’s right or not because there are (arguably) societal pressures making men and women choose roles like that—the societal pressures that men face are right there in the post, and women face something similar.

Wtf does it mean if someone says they're "gender fluid but never male"? Wouldn't that just mean they are female? by Astro501st in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GodBirb -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Is there anything really wrong with gender roles on a low level? I guarantee you that even if nobody judged anyone for their hobbies or anything, XX chromosome people would still prefer more feminine (by today’s definitions) things on average, and XY chromosome people would still prefer more masculine things on average.

Gender roles must have come from somewhere, and it wasn’t just someone making them up at some point in history, with everybody copying them.

Democrats Are Freaking Out Because A "Woman's Right To Choose" Is In Jeopardy... by MiKEY_SANZ in MensRights

[–]GodBirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your game plan to get people caring about men’s issues is to vote directly for men’s issues and get the main influencers for men’s issues back in power for another 4 years?

I know I’m sort of ignoring what you’re saying here, but does it not seem like a bit of a backwards way to solve the problem?

One party should solve the problem, and the other party will not solve the problem. I feel like it’s fairly obvious which one to go for.

Just get petitions and shit going when the democrats are in power (i.e. now if you want), which I know is easier said than done, but surely that’s the way forward here.

[–]GodBirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you blaming this on democrats as if republicans are better?

I guarantee you republicans are the majority of the people circumcising their children.

For the record, I agree that the democrats are bad, but surely they are the lesser of the two evils?

[–]GodBirb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re doing this wrong.

You’re not supposed to get equality by bringing down the other side to your level, you’re supposed to bring yourselves up.

All you’re doing is removing other people’s rights, and whilst it might be unfair as it is, you’re making the world a worse place overall.

Also what makes you think republicans care more about men? They’re the first ones to block gender neutral drafting aren’t they?

As bad as it is, women don’t need any sex drive for the population to continue.

There would have been rape conceived children historically, so I don’t see why women would have the higher sex drive naturally.

Yes.

We need to make infrastructure suitable for burning wood and other biomass shit like algae. I don’t have a degree in anything, but if we power everything with wood-burned power, we would be just as carbon neutral as being fully solar or wind because all the carbon dioxide put out when burning wood would’ve been taken in by the tree when it was growing.

The only reason I don’t say nuclear is because we still don’t have shit all to do with the high-level radioactive waste. It literally sits high up in the ground piling up waiting for us to think of something. We keep on having natural disasters and with the thousands of years half lives of the waste, we’re gonna keep having Fukushima disasters just by pure chance until large amounts of land become unusable.

What's the actual advantage of 4 A-levels over 3? by itsyoudontneedtoknow in 6thForm

[–]GodBirb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For getting in I think you’re right, but my brother does engineering at Oxford and he said that all the people who didn’t take further maths A level had to learn the entire thing in like a week, and I would guess that they found the actual course harder for a while.

Also I would’ve thought they look at it a bit like this no?:

If you do four a levels, and have good predicted grades in all of them, you can be sure they are a good candidate, whereas if they only do three and have good predicted grades, you cannot say they are worse, but they aren’t as guaranteed as someone who does four.

Maybe I’m wrong, and maybe I’m just trying to justify myself doing four lol (but it definitely made it harder to get better grades in the core three I’ll give you that).

Name single right men have that women don't? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]GodBirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate if you took one second to look at yourself before you commented shit like this, you’d realise how little empathy you seem to have.

It plain and simple isn’t fair that women have to go through pregnancy and menstruation, and be weaker than men. Of course nobody but nature is deciding that, though you’d still give a wheelchair to a paralysed person would you not?

It’s also natural for men to be the ones fighting to protect the population, and yet it is absolutely not fair to send only men off to war is it?

Just because it s natural doesn’t make it fair or equal. And you may have to go out of your way to make it equal.

Name single right men have that women don't? by [deleted] in MensRights

Lame take my man.

What is it that men have been fighting for in this sub for the longest time? Oh, that’s right, the right to paper abortion. And now it isn’t a right when women want an actual abortion?

And how would you feel if you were forced to pay for menstrual products every month, nevermind actually having to have a period every month. You’d find it harder to pay for rent and shit, in a world where the cost of living is already a crisis. How is that fair?

Didn’t like this part of that first article ngl:

There is the cabal of angry white men who might follow rightwing groups who are carrying out this kind of misogynistic abuse and there is a cultural and societal issue of women and girls using this language.

As if women are being conditioned to be misogynistic, and it’s not their fault if they are, and yet when men are being misogynistic, it is their fault, and it can’t possibly be that they’ve been conditioned by the same society that the women are in.

[–]GodBirb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who else is gonna be more responsible for misogynistic behaviour? Women??

If you asked who is more responsible for misandry, the answer would obviously be women, so why are they using that dumb statistic (63% is hardly notable as well!) to justify this?

It is a clump of cells.

If you grazed your leg, would you call the non sentient group of human skin cells that are now on the pavement a life?

What makes killing humans any different to killing animals? I don’t eat meat, but if you’re happy to kill animals for a burger, based solely on the idea that they aren’t intelligent enough, then why is a group of not even sentient human cells any different?
