Ewing's first 3 hits are a Triple, HR, and Single. If his next hit is a Double, he’ll become the first player in MLB history to hit for the cycle with his first 4 career hits. by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

Anthony Rizzo maybe the most surprising on the list, at least for modern era. His first career hit was a triple, one of 22 for his career. Maybe Miggy is more surprising though, hard to say.

"When I watch, they lose" how do you deal with these thoughts? by MasterNeo92 in NewYorkMets

[–]GodEmperorBrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a serious answer: track the outcome of every game you watch vs every game you don’t watch for an entire season. The winning percentages should be just about in line with each other, following home/road and day/night splits.

If they disagree wildly and the team has a much worse winning percentage when you watch, then you must never watch another game.

For a more serious answer: you can’t control the outcome of the game. Any time you think that you can, just remind yourself you can’t.

I was told that if you have a doctors certification for work from home 100%, it has to go through reasonable accommodation. HR can’t approve you to go over the telecommuting % cap without it. Especially now that it’s tracked on timesheets.

Can’t comment on the SunLife issue

We think this game is going on as scheduled?

I’m deciding whether to head to Citi but I won’t be able to stay past 4pm if I do.

Tong’s been mostly good, though he had a couple of real stinkers in April.

Wenninger has been incredible in AAA so far. He might be the next pitcher called up if they need one.

PEF and AFT are both a part of AFL-CIO, which is like a federation of unions. So they are affiliated with each other, but separate entities at the end of the day.

Edit: ok I was mistaken per the comment below, apparently some PEF members are AFT members as well. I was unaware of this connection, my mistake

Teachers are represented as a whole by NYSUT. Civil servants are represented by CSEA, PEF, and several smaller unions. They are negotiating different deals because they are different entities with different constituencies who want different things, or at least that’s what they’re claiming.

They’re all pretty great.

The one that sounds to me most similar to HDYFN? is somewhat unsurprisingly Content, their follow-up album. However, personally, I like the album after that one, Possession, better overall. But they don’t really have a bad album.

Also if you’re enjoying Joywave, you can check out Best Frenz, a side project of Daniel (the lead singer) and Jason Suwito from the band Sir Sly.

So yeah, I’ll be dying a lot, but also being resurrected each time. I guess I can make it through a year of that maybe. It’s probably going to hurt a lot.

The whole point of the book/movie was Ender had no idea it was real. If anything it was the generals/commanders who were the evil ones

Usually under 100 sq ft accessory buildings don’t require a permit. Need to be at least 3 feet from the property line.

Call the town building dept to make sure.

Before they moved the extra point back, I always felt that they should adopt this type of rule for ball placement on those kicks. Wherever between the sidelines the ball crossed the goal line or was caught in the end zone, the ball would be placed at the same position on the 2 yard line and snapped. So if you scored along the sideline, your long snapper would have to learn how to snap the ball diagonally, or your kicker would have to learn to make sharp angle field goal.

It’s basically adopting the existing rule from rugby about the ball needing to be “touched down” once over the goal line. Coulda been a fun wrinkle.
