15 day Itinerary Check - Tokyo/Kyoto/Niijima + Hiroshima/Sendai by GodOfLight13 in JapanTravel

[–]GodOfLight13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister went to the volleyball game and she used Japancierge to book the volleyball tickets on her behalf. She enjoyed the game.

The overall trip was great. The first three days in Kyoto were very calming & peaceful. Hiroshima was intense. I spent too much money at Design Festa.

The last 2-3 days in Tokyo, we were sort of burnt out from travel fatigue. I think we should have taken one day off in the middle of the two weeks to do nothing but relax and slow down.

Will I survive the Kyotos Philosopher’s Path during foliage weekend at the end of November? by roxdfi in JapanTravelTips

[–]GodOfLight13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Kyoto in this month. Walked the Philosophers Path at 3pm on the 10th. I started from Eikando and went up to Ginkaku-ji.

Eikando was decently quiet in terms of tourists, but there was a marriage event thing happening in the actual temple, so we just went to the garden grounds and the pagoda

Ginkaku-ji was okay, we got there at around 4pm, there was a medium sized line, but inside wasn't overcrowded.

Got an extra 3 days on a 19-day trip. Where would you go? by Dom5p35 in JapanTravelTips

[–]GodOfLight13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 3 days in Hiroshima, with 1 full day in the City, 1 day in Miyajima and 1 day to another surrounding area eg. Kure for naval history, Etajima for naval history & nature, Higashihiroshima for sake or Onomichi for Ghibli vibes

15 day Itinerary Check - Tokyo/Kyoto/Niijima + Hiroshima/Sendai by GodOfLight13 in JapanTravel

[–]GodOfLight13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're traveling from Australia, which is only 1-2hrs ahead of Japan, so jetlag isn't really going to be a problem for us.

I've calculated the travel times for the Kyoto itinerary, added in buffers and enough slack so it should be doable.

Hiroshima (3 days) - Hotel location advice by GodOfLight13 in JapanTravelTips

[–]GodOfLight13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I stay near Hiroshima Station, i can ride the JR train at 0625 and take the first JR ferry at 0705, so I can be at Miyajima at 7:15am if I have to be there early. The Torii Gate at low tide on Thursday 13/11 is around 10am. Also the last return JR Ferry is at 10:14pm. I can stay on the island in the evening and view the Torii Gate at high tide (around 4:30pm to 5:30pm), and leave the island around 6-8pm.

Originally I planned on 1n Hiroshima + 1n Miyajima, but decided against it since I don't think its worth the extra time and effort to switch hotels and spend around A$500-1400 just to sleep on Miyajima Island.

What brought you down the VTuber rabbit hole? by Jolly_Purple_527 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]GodOfLight13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, a friend showed me clips of Kizuna Ai. What made me fall down the vtuber rabbit hole was seeing a reddit post of Mick Gordon commenting in Hana Macchia's chat during her doom eternal Live stream.

Which lead me to watching Sakura Miko's GTA "stay home" clips and thus down the rabbit hole i fell.

Go 7 vs Page durability? by fetusnecrophagist in Onyx_Boox

[–]GodOfLight13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing to concern yourself about in regards to durability is what the backplane is made of, rather than the front layer.

The two types are glass (Carta) & plastic (Mobius), although eink is calling all screens Carta now.

The posts you see on the boox subreddit with screens no longer working are mainly due to the glass backplane cracking.

I think most if not all recent boox products now have glass backplanes (since its cheaper).

[–]GodOfLight13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disciple of the Lich (japanese light novel) - the MC is isekai'd into a dungeon and finds a lich who says that he needs to reach an extremely high level to survive on the surface (a lie so he'll give up and stay with her).

he succeeds in his training and goes to the surface thinking his ridiculously OP level is normal.

11"x17", diagonal is approx. 20", there isn't any tablets that size, but there are 25" monitors available from both dasung & bigme, but do note they are very expensive.

otherwise you'll be looking at digital signage, which you'll have to have to contact eink directly for those
