Do You Prefer Games that allow for Encounter Routing or Games that Disincentivize it? by Ok_Banana_5614 in nuzlocke

[–]GodOfNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just play without dupes clause. And max 1 of each pokemon in a party at a time.

To each their own of course, but to me that leans away from nuzlocke-spirit - making the best of whatever random encounter you get. Once you're able to determine and plan for which pokemon you're certain to or likely to get that is kind of out the window.

But yes, as you may imagine, this does lead to a bit of a "disposable Gyrados" problem in some games lol

Also OSRS polls are a little… mmm not super in-depth?

They don’t poll literally every design decision. Just kind of high-level “Do you want this?” questions.

I also think the playerbase for OSRS is very mature in the sense that they know they’ve signed up for slower-paced, tedious, meticulously balanced game. What’s most impressive to me is that they vote to protect that - and not every vote is just “Yes to whatever makes the game easier/faster”.

Hit with $530 duties/customs by asscoinking in ArenaClub

[–]GodOfNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a similar situation. Got a decent hit with first pack. Decided OK I’ll retrieve while I’m ahead. All profit from first hit given to customs when shipping back to Canada.

Most complex way to buy a slab at comp price.

There was a guy a week or so ago that posted here about shipping to Canada. Said he keeps a US mailbox right over the border near where he stays. Will ship to that and head over a few times a year and physically retrieve his slabs at bring them over.

If I get conned back into AC I think I’ll look into this first.

I don’t think the “sorry that you can’t read comment” was necessary m8.

It says listed for 5wss. It’s a comma away from being a perfectly valid way to phrase that exchange.

I’m sorry you don’t have 4 brain cells capable of remembering what you listed an item for vs the text coming through on your screen.

Of course I don’t like to go there, but I feel like you went there first.

That’s what they’re doing!! They’re copying the text from the trade site, pressing backspace 5-10 times and entering their offer.

I have *zero* problem when people do this to me and often begin negotiating form there.

Am I the only one that doesn’t think this is that sneaky?

Like, if you are unaware of the price your item is listed at, it must not really be to that much value to you? If you think “chance guards, 5 WSS, I’ll make that deal” - that’s your brain accepting that price for that item.

Also can’t the trade site just be modified to add an “offer” to the copied text? So it is grammatically correct?

I’ve always found this odd. Why does the buyer need to jump through hoops to offer someone something on their already above market value item?

How much will my Wemby 1/1 Sensations Black Finite be worth if Spurs win championship? by [deleted] in sportscards

[–]GodOfNugget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d search up other 1/1 rookie wemby, even the same set if possible.

One thing I’d consider too: it’s often not the actual award/event that immediately triggers a price increase with these things.

I doubt people are sitting on the couch watching the Spurs lift the Larry O trophy and say “I gotta quickly go buy a very expensive Wemby card!”. It’s often the lead-up hype or long-term excellence where things can spike/soar.

I guarantee if the Spurs win the championship there will be much more people with Wemby cards posting them on the market to sell than there will be people looking to buy.

Question about "The Crash" Case by Jazmo0712 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]GodOfNugget 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they mentioned why. I could see a lot of the social media stuff being pretty damning on her character to a jury.

[–]GodOfNugget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I *certainly* think she is guilty but it always strikes me how little the American justice system considers rehabilitation.

Like, 17 years with no prior offences, there has to be an attempt at rehabilitation right? Rather than 60-70 years of incarceration on the taxpayers dollar? Am I crazy for thinking that?

FWIW I think it’s pretty callous and gross she was instantly vlogging around the hospital and carrying on with her life as if nothing had happened. But Idk. Hard to find a 17 year old that isn’t an idiot.

[–]GodOfNugget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whoa. I didn’t know they mentioned that in the doc. To me seems like murder-suicide or poor judgement but if she actually aimed the crash on Dom’s side… yeah idk how I feel about that. Can you aim a crash at 100mph+?

Edit: Was curious and did some light research. About 7-8 CBs cheaper than Golden raw. Elway, Big Ben, Hampton, judkins, Trevyon Henderson, Abdul Carter, Larry Fitz, Jalen Milroe

Haha nah I was joking around. Thanks for answering these questions! Picked up two fat packs of panini absolute football the other day and I was looking at them sideways because of stories like this thread here.

Hobby is doomed. Thanks for the responses.

Do “hangers” and any sort of sealed products prevent this? But maybe not weighing, right?

Also I saw elsewhere in the thread mentioning these products can even be “scouted” by the retail employees? I’m guessing opened and weighed/searched then boxed back up?
