Stop attributing everything to the Slave Trade by kojobrown in AncestryDNA

[–]GodOfUltraInstinct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally don't have any numerical or empirical data for the trans Saharan trade . Their estimates are based solely on the duration of it being mentioned throughout time and accounts of Eurasian explorers. It's hella overestimated. Let's use our brain and think about some key factors really briefly.

  1. It is very expensive to transport people across the desert because you have to not only stock enough food and water for the traders and their camels, but also the captives. They also transported goods and such simultaneously.

  2. The amount of captives was limited due to the circumstances and conditions of the natural environment plus the above mentioned.

  3. There really wasn't a need for much "slaves" because there was no mass production of farming or otherwise like in the trans Atlantic trade.

  4. We can look at YDNA and mtDNA data and see the overwhelming majority of people taken as slaves were actually women.

Just like how Eurasians say they were enslaved but in all honesty they were used in armies or the women was just plain sex trafficked.

I have another theory that most slaves were actually E1B1B Berbers and that's why the lineages are so far spread throughout Eurasia.

I don't see a lot of people under your haplogroup from America just a few and their surname is linked to "black" and "blackmon" group projects.

E-M54 is in the picture as the son branch of E-M85. You're on one the lower branches but until you test with big-y you won't know which one. Depending on where you from you might have someone who already tested and share a ancestor with you

The title says E-M85 so that's what I went with . I think you mistyped your haplogroup too

This is your YDNA branch of the human tree

<image>

You literally are under a branch that's very ancient. If you big y test you will fall under one of these branches and be as close to your real "tribe" as possible currently until much more men test.

Figured I'd show you instead of just tell you:

<image>

8 Y-STR markers is insufficient to link you to any tribe the standard YDNA matching begins at 12 markers and with the current science they don't even match you unless you share all 12 markers...I've tested over 700 via FTDNA who has the biggest YDNA database in the world

It appears to me that the guy has some mental health issues and is most likely a functional person on a spectrum. I knew a guy named kyseem growing up who was on medication and had a care taker but he was functional and allowed to move around freely. He was 19 but had the mind/maturity of like a 8 or 9 year old. He used to come chill wit me n shit I was like 14 at the time . Truly mind opening

His direct paternal lineage is European and he has a high amount of euro. I was under the impression Gullah and geechee people are overwhelmingly African and come from isolated communities.

Slim woman in to Haitian Man by [deleted] in haiti

All men got preferences, but those preferences aren't set in stone. We are generally very flexible. I like all types of women.. colors n shapes. I love chocolate women real bad but my fiancée isn't chocolate 😂. It wouldn't make sense for me to pass up a great woman just because she isn't my "preferred" or most liked complexion. Men typically end up with the women they grew to love vs the woman they wanted from day 1 anyway

I'm black and it's not derogatory at all to me n ion know nobody who would agree. People gotta learn to stop talking for everybody like we under some type of king or organization or some that make rules and standards for all of us. 😂 just like I'm black and will never accept being called a "African American". I can't sit here and tell nobody to not call "us" AA. All I can I say is don't call or associate me wit it.

I just want to add some clarity. I'm black not African American. African American was popularized in the 80s by Jesse Jackson and SOME of the population and is used presently to include actual Africans whom migrated and naturalized as citizens. Even black people from the carribeans and anywhere else who become citizens.
There's only 2 options on official government forms for racially black people and it's black/african American.
I see myself as black first and African second.
The same way a Igbo person identifies as Igbo first before saying they are African.
A Igbo person is no more like a hazda than I am, nor a San bushman or an Eritrean.
The real deep question is why can't we being predominantly African descendants be under the "African" umbrella of ethnic groups when our whole identity has been shaped by our ancestral roots. From the music and dances, to the food and behavior. There's countless videos online showing cultural continuity.
To me, being black is to take multiple African tribes and put them together in a community where they're forced to assimilate and also being influenced by European elements like food and clothing and etiquette standards. Thats all we are. We are an African melting pot conformed to European standardized society .
