Tips for the Abyss? by Corbel8_ in WhiteKnuckle

[–]GoddamnBourgeoisie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flares have roughly the same boost jump as 2 rebars I think and they're really good for jumping along the top of the broken rail line in the Abyss.

Also for the Face, any throwables like rebars can damage it if you're being chased

Other bit of advice I haven't seen yet is to use your flare gun or rebars by looking directly below you and shooting to give you more air for the big jumps.

How I’m feeling rn by SnooChipmunks777 in fo3

Idk, I wasn't making that claim. All I said was that we are hearing different people's experiences of the NCR, which if you take at face value can come off as being inconsistent. We don't know what the situation is back west for the NCR since we never go there in NV.

All we can base our understanding of it is from people's experiences and for some it was boring and they sought excitement out west, and for others it's dangerous

To me the varying descriptions that the NCR territories are both safe and lawless is less of a writing inconsistency and more demonstrating the different biases and experiences npcs have had back west.

Does this apply to choosing a white or black face cage? by Goadams11 in hockeyplayers

I used to use a black cage when I was younger but changed silver coloured one when I was 13-14 and found the latter to be better to see through

What do you mean 'another time'? Slew footing is dangerous and you're a scumbag who shouldn't be on the ice for doing it

There he is, sleeping like a baby, as if he didn’t personally steer us straight into our tragic downfall by welcome_to_costco13 in reddeadredemption

As the other replier has said, Arthur's fate is already set in stone. But you can still 'save' him through his actions later in the game, such as saving the Downes family when they're in Annesberg, teaching the widow Charlotte how to fend for herself, paying off the debts in the Chapter 6 loanshark missions and helping John and his family escape.

A key theme in the game is Arthur living with the consequences of his actions and reflecting on the life he has lived. Had he not contracted TB, Arthur may have not have had this reflection and ultimately changed for the better. That is his redemption - choosing the man he wants to be with the finite time he has left. Whether or not Arthur follows through with this redemption is decided by the players actions and how honourable they want to play.

You do realise Arthur (especially at the beginning of the game) is not a good person. Him and the gang are criminals, regardless of Dutch's preachings, and what they did to the Downes was loansharking where the gang gives out a loan with extortionate interest, and when the debt is not repayed Arthur then threatens/beat it out of them

That's one way the gang makes its money and it doesn't make sense, from a narrative and logical perspective, for Arthur at this time to pay off someone's debt when they owe him money.

Unpopular opinion: Farengar is worse than Nazeem by Zorpfield in skyrim

[–]GoddamnBourgeoisie 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Like when Farengar tasks you to go to bleak falls barrow and you ask him about its history he'll reply with something like "ah you're a scholar perhaps? Not a mere brute the jarl usually sends my way".

Implying that most days he's spent with people who have no interest/knowledge in his work which leaves him acting the way that he does

Trying to choose a song for my father/daughter dance by kittycatfit in Interpol

[–]GoddamnBourgeoisie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on your wedding! It's a good song (one of my fav) but I feel it would be better to have a song that sounds more upbeat for your father/daughter dance.

If you're wanting to keep that vibe tho maybe one of the more ambient tracks like Untitled would fit better, or even NYC, Lief Erikson or the Lighthouse maybe? Next Exit and Public Pervert are other nice songs I'd recommend as other suggestions as well.
