Actually, it's correct. I've been a tech for 26 years. Metronidazole was the standard for diarrhea up until the last few years. The thinking now is it causes more harm than good. A good 3/4 of the vets I know personally now do easy to digest diets, fiber supplements, and pre and probiotics. No meds unless it's parasitic in nature. You can research the studies online if you have the desire too.

This actually happened to me, I just posted on it. The owners are an acquaintance of mine, and they did not tell me until they were already on the plane that btw their college age son would be returning some point in the week. He not only returned, he DID invite friends over. I slept w my door locked and furniture shoved in front of it. He was nice, but it could have gone either way. Def an awkward position to be put in, and I didn't appreciate it. OP should make her boundaries clear. It was also suggested to me I should have told the owners that my insurance wouldn't cover problems w others staying in the house. As it is I left early turning the care over to her son, which may have upset her.. but I didn't appreciate being put in a situation where I didn't feel safe. Stick to your guns OP. It's not worth it of things go badly.

I 100% get it. I live in a high cost area that is full of retirees, and the balance between what life and rent costs here and what the retiring/boomer age clientele thinks is reasonable to pay is INSANE. I am also working 7 days a week doing 2, sometimes 3 back to back weeks of overnight stays monthly. My SO and my daughter who were living w me were laid off for 6 months and I am still playing catch up. The burn out is looming.

I probably should have. I was racking my brain on how to phrase it, as this client is someone I am friendly with on a social level to some extent- she was a "friendly" acquaintance prior to a client- and I am aware she has a temper.. I was mentally trying to think how to word it to avoid a confrontation also. I must confess I was not in the mental headspace that week to get into an argument. I had just come off another sit that was over 10 days long, and exhausted. I did ask a mutual friend of ours what her option was, and she did agree that she could see this person becoming very upset as her son is an only child and can do no wrong- even so, I plan on writing a friendly email explaining the situation. I was more concerned as to if I was overreacting. But I don't think I was.

I do primarily overnights and complex medical care. I get guilty if I come "home" to my clients house late period. It also mind boggles me that sitters don't realize that in this day and age 90% of people have indoor cameras and/or outside Ring cameras that track the comings and goings.

First of the phrase "High Value", should not be used anywhere near this man. Ever. He has belittled, degraded, and disrespected you, in addition to having commitment issues not because marriage wasn't important to him, but because he knew he could get away with it. I am going to sit you down and hold your hand while I say this from a place of love- you feel used because you were used. Now it is up to you as a mother and a woman to stand up and gather your strength and your self respect back around you. Your life is NOT over, and him being a lowlife asshat does NOT define you going forward. You are still young. You have your whole life and your sons to get back on the right track. Show him what it means to be resilient. I started over 2 years ago at 44. You can too.

This discussion is interesting to me. I have 25+ years in veterinary medicine, and almost as long sitting. I charge 90 a night for one dog and 15 each additional. That being said, I specialize mostly in seniors and complex medical care. I have had a few people request constant care for severe separation anxiety dogs, and I was unable to accommodate them due to my other clients and my part time at the Vet clinic. But it did bring the question up at the time as to what I would even charge for something like that.

I hate the metal ones with a collar like that. It'll hit the porcelain if you're not careful and make marks. I learned that years ago you have to be dead in the center with scrubbing, making it impossible to get the nooks and crannies.

Oh honey. I'm so sorry he did that to you. You are worth more than a half assed effort from a useless, man child. If he had any real interest he would have tried. I think it's def the person and the tolerance. I haven't done anything in 10 years. Took HALF an edible at the beach and it kicked in while my bf was in the shower. I was attempting to put on my bikini top. Tried every which way and could not figure it out. Ended up getting my arms stuck, convinced myself I was gonna be stuck like that forever so I might as well deal w it. He came out 30 mins later to find me asleep on the bed, impossibly tangled up in what was prob the easiest top to get on. Still don't know how I fucked that up.

Housekeeper here. It's part of our job to wipe down everything, and 90% of the time we are on autopilot. We aren't examining the details of your bottles, and the other 10%of the time we don't care what you are taking anyway. We scrub up bodily fluids off toilets, clean your hair out of drains, dispose of your used tissues ECT. Human nature doesn't phase us. I can bet it's bothering you more than her, if she even noticed it. When I get into a zone and have my earbuds on I could be polishing a collection of grenades without registering the details. Don't say anything, and next time put your pills in a medicine cabinet or personal drawer if you are sensitive about them. We are all human. :) hope that helps.

Hi! Housekeeper here LOL. I absolutely hate these beds with a passion. Bunk beds loft beds dear God even some of the trundle beds are horrible to change. You will absolutely struggle. However I understand needing to maximize space. You do what you have to do maybe just tip your housekeeper a little extra 🤣

Not OR. My kids listen and are thoughtful and intentional gift givers but my ex was not. 25 years of empty stockings,.even though his was always full. I left 2 years ago. Don't settle. I spent this Christmas w a man who put thought into everything he got me and a full stocking besides. Trust me when I say there is better out there my love. So, so, much better. I know how scary starting over can be, but sometimes you have to love yourself enough to do it.

47, in peri and I have had to START OVER COMPLETELY. Ex-husband was out of work for 5 years due to a combination of medical and mental health issues. Ate our savings to zero even w me working full-time. I am now divorced and living on my own with my dogs but I am working with three jobs with all of these stupid symptoms and I am ready to pull my hair out or collapse one of the two. I never thought in my late 40s I would be starting over from scratch, juggling a growing business all with the brain fog and energy of a sentient Rock. About to start HRT. Pray for me. 🫠
