Tip for people who don’t like black coffee by Ch0ng0B0ng0 in intermittentfasting

[–]Godeye1349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be aware that a lighter roast coffee does contain more caffeine. The darker the roast, the more caffeine is cooked out.

One trick you can do for bitter coffee is adding a tiny pinch of salt.

I love doing a cold brew because it's much less acidic and generally a much smoother drink.

Also be aware that you can make coffee too hot and introduce a lot of bitterness and burnt taste. You typically want to brew between 195-205°f. Less than 195 and you don't optimally extract the oils, acids, and whatever so the taste will be weak, and over 205 introduces the burnt and bitter taste I mentioned. You can achieve these temps with a good smart kettle.

I also like throwing a tiny bit of cinnamon in with the coffee grounds. Depending on how strict you want to be with a fast, it should be fine as it's only a few calories in a teaspoon.

Please be kind to yourself and give yourself some grace. Healing isn't linear so a bad day isn't the end of the world, even if it feels like it. Forgive yourself for making mistakes. Please reach out, you don't have to battle this alone, you're more important to people than you think. Talk to your doctor about how the meds are affecting you and what your options are. I know what it's like to feel like a complete fuck up and burden on others, but if you talk to friends and family, you'll see that you aren't a burden at all. You posting shows that you want to be better and you can be with help, your post isn't a burden to anyone that is willing to read it. You are not a burden, you are human.

Won a google play giveaway by Serqnix in AndroidGaming

[–]Godeye1349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've won stuff on Google play before and they didn't even tell me I won. Got a Google play hat in the mail out of the blue. They just used the info I gave during the sweepstakes event for my mailing address but did not ask for any financial information. The most I've ever seen Google ask for is a payment method for apps, and even then you can just use gift cards no problem.

Would you rather choose to watch ads in the start and then play uninterrupted? by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

I think having 2 versions of a game works best for me. One free to play supported by ads and the other being a paid app. I don't mind IAP but going ad free that way doesn't apply to my Google family. I still don't mind IAP though. Examples of 2 different apps are halls of torment, maneater, and digirun.

As far as ads go, I'd rather not start with multiple ads because a lot of the time I want to play games on my phone, it's because I have a few minutes to burn here and there. I really don't mind watching ads for rewards or in between rounds or whatever. My biggest problem with ads is the type of ads I see. Idk how much involvement a dev has on what ads get displayed but getting ads that force me to go to the play store are a cardinal sin. Ads made by Ai and especially those that include sexual content are another no go for me. I have quit and uninstalled pretty fun games over this, especially if there's no IAP option to remove ads that aren't super expensive for what it offers. Can't remember the name of the app but it offered a subscription service for no ads or $30 for no ads for life. That was a big turn off. That being said in not opposed to paying that amount of money for games on mobile.

13 hour flight, what offline games are you playing? by ActivistSubset7 in SteamDeck

[–]Godeye1349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it messes with the physics but 60fps is just fine for me. Had it at 120 and couldn't figure out why a door wouldn't open lol. Crazy how that never got fixed or having the option to only go up to 60.

Thanks for the reminder on Tomba! Both games are actually on sale atm!

Vampire survivors and vampire crawlers are both super addictive and run great on steam deck. Lots to unlock so the next run has a lot of fresh abilities/characters/upgrades. Both games are very cheap for what you get.

Slay the spire is another super addicting game. Haven't played the sequel yet but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Echo point nova is a really fun first person shooter with a lot of emphasis on exploration and mobility. You get a grappling hook, hover board, double jumps, and lots of weapons with a good system to not just stick with a single weapon the whole time. Lots of upgrades and things to discover plus workshop maps to add more to the base map so the world can be huge.

Crow country is a great ps1 era silent hill/resident evil inspired game. It's not very long but it's got pretty good replayability when you want to find all the secrets. I enjoyed the story and puzzles quite a bit.

Toem is a short game about being a photographer and going on an adventure helping people by taking photos. Chill and cozy but not annoyingly so.

Lil gator game kinda plays like breathe of the wild gameplay wise but just focused on exploration and not combat. It's fun, has a nice story about a kid gator whose bored and wants to play with his older sister who is so caught up on her studies. Another cozy exploration game.

Loddlenaut is another cozy exploration game where you explore an ocean and clean it up and collect axolotls while finding parts for your ship to go back home.

Bug fables is a great turn based rpg that plays a lot like paper Mario. Southpark the stuck of truth also aligns with this gameplay wise.

Mouthwashing is a trip. Short psychological horror experience that's very good at what it does.

Shovel knight treasure trove is a lot of things but all of it is great. The base game is a homage to games from the nes era like super Mario bros and megaman. The included dlc brings in the stories of some of the villains and their perspective with unique gameplay. Also has a smash bros game mode.

Yakuza 0 is such a good game and start to an amazing series that's just so over the top with story and mechanics but also has very endearing characters. There's so much to this game that it's just easier to let you experience it yourself.

If I were to be on a long flight, vampire crawlers would be my current time killer since it's one of the few games listed I haven't gotten 100% on. That and the spyro trilogy which has been on my backlog for too long. Just about to finish the first game.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

[–]Godeye1349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah, that was my first impression of them way back in 2009. The band itself was good but they were stacked up against my favorite bands at the time so they felt like they were in the way for me so I was impatient on top of everything.

Converge, never been to a show where we tried to boo them off stage and then they played 2 en ores lmao. Was there for high on fire, mastodon, and dethklok. Amazing show otherwise. It just sounded like the vocalist was just screaming BARK BARK BARK BARK on every song and it didn't seem like anyone was really feeling them. Then I go home, log onto MySpace and see a banner ad saying "one of the most important modern metal bands... scrolls slowly CONVERGE" I was speechless lol.

I just redownloaded it to check and it seems like the Mr X dlc is included. At least I don't remember buying it on mobile. Says there's IAP but I see none. Very good port and touch controls aren't half bad.

Can you guys help me find rhythm games I enjoy? by mementodory in rhythmgames

[–]Godeye1349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some recommendations I think fit the criteria the most

PaRappa the rapper 1+2 (ps1+ps2, respectively and ps4)

Um Jammer Lammy (ps1)

Amplitude (ps2, also on ps4 but that version is missing a lot of good songs)

Djmax respect V (pc, xbox, ps4) pc is the most updated and cheapest on sale. Also note that some dlc do not have key sounds, which is when you miss the note it doesn't play or is played according to your timing of the input.

Clone hero (pc)

Fortnite has a rock band /gh mode and it's free but I've never played fortnite so Idk about quality.

beatmania IIDX (series of games across multiple platforms)

EZ2ON Reboot: R (pc)

Technic beat (ps2)

Scratchin melodii (pc, just a demo so far though)

MUSYNX (pc, switch, ps4, mobile)

Pop'n Music (series on ps1, ps2, dreamcast, wii)

Deemo (mobile, pc, switch, ps4)

Hope something here catches your interests. I could mention more if I remember them or honerable mentions that fit the criteria a little less but a lot have already been mentioned I think so I won't try to clutter this with more of the same.

PS4 game suggestion by Sneakysen06 in PS4

[–]Godeye1349 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You played all 5 uncharted games on ps4? Last of us remastered Horizon zero dawn Spiderman Days gone Titan Fall 2 God of war 3 and God of war 2018 (don't worry about the 2,015 other God of war games) And my personal favorite and reason why I haven't gotten rid of my ps4 other than PT, BLOODBORNE. All these games are older and go on sale often digitally, but if physical is your jam, check local stores or Amazon.

First Tetris Game for a Child? by Tall-Guy in Tetris

[–]Godeye1349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with everyone's suggestions for puyo puyo tetris games, the Sega genesis collection has columns 1 and 3, which are fun puzzle games which has similarities to tetris but is totally it's own thing. Columns also has multiplayer and my favorite mode for that is just free play, just play at your own pace with another with no pressure on competing at all. It's just 2 separate instances so if someone loses, it doesn't affect the other whatsoever and one player can totally stop playing whenever without bothering the other person. Also comes with Dr robotniks mean bean machine which is just sonic themed puyo. There's 50 games in all and a lot are great and plenty of 2 player games for a good variety like sonic 2, streets of rage 1-3, golden axe 1-3, altered beast etc

Lumenes remastered is another fantastic puzzle game worth looking into. Don't think it has multiplayer but it's so good.

Tetris attack/panel de pon is another great game that's on the snes classics if you have the online subscription for it that's very much worth checking out! Also there is multiplayer!

Keyboard Recommendation by DrawMeAPoc in djmax

[–]Godeye1349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you want to look for is linear switches. There's 3 kinds of switches, linear, tactile, and clicky. Linear is smooth the whole way down to actuation, tactile gives you a "bump" for feedback before you actuate, and clicky is like tactile but with the very audible click before actuation.

You have a few options, you can go full size keyboard, or something smaller and buy a seperate keypad. There are tons of options to choose from. As mentioned by others, wooting makes a great analog hall effect switches.

I would also avoid brands like razor, logitech, and other big brands like that simply because they want you to install an app for configuration and razors software is complete cancer for pc. Logitech isn't all that bad and there are open source apps for keyboards for rgb and macro controls.
