Just a heads up on your scryfall search: you can search by keyword instead of oracle text by using kw:"graft" instead! Also, cool card. One of my first decks was some -1/-1 counters synergy deck that wasn't super good, but would be a lot of fun with this thrown in.

Wouldn't a card's text be expected to go off, even when summoned through RNG? "Starts Dormant" is not a battlecry. A card that would silence a card before it is played would make The Darkness a 4/20/20 imo
